Tata Docomo CDMA Intros STV24; Offer Local & STD at 1p/2sec

Tata Docomo CDMA brings a new special tariff voucher (STV) of Rs.24 for Kolkata and West Bengal to make local and STD calls to any network at just 1p/2sec.

Now Tata Docomo CDMA (earlier Tata Indicom) customers in Kolkata & West Bengal telecom circles can make any calls in India at just 1p/2sec (30paisa/minute in second pulse) by recharging just Rs.24 for 30 days.

Interestingly same tariff is offered by MTS for Rs 67 for 30 days, while MSaver 141 gives the tariff validity of lifetime, provided you make minimum recharge of Rs 900 for each 180 days.

Recent data shows that Tata Tele is loosing many customers on their CDMA platform mostly due to lack of good tariff and promotion. TTSL made a change to bring its CDMA and GSM wing under one brand – Tata Docomo. It seems under this new brand TTSL is trying to hard to latch its subscribers on its CDMA network.

every one will appreciate with me that tata docomo online chat not support the web browser like Firefox 10, Google chrome 18, or even IE 9 .. but they are not upgrade their online chat,, it is really back dated, i told this lots of time but tata docomo are not able to take any action about that….

On 05 Jan 2012 Google released Chrome 16.0.912.75 and that is the latest stable release as on date. However 18.0.1003.1 is available since 10 Jan 2012 for developers only
Similarly Firefox 9.0.1 (stable version) was released on 21 Dec 2011 and Firefox 10.0 (Beta) is available since 4 January 13 Jan 2012.
So update your PC as you are trying to be ahead of the world and should keep pace with the rest of the world.
However TATA DOCOMO’s chat with IE9 is a concern.

This browser is not compatible with chat. Please use one of the following browsers:

On Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98 and Windows 95 and Windows 2003 and Windows 2008:
    Internet Explorer version 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0
    Netscape version 6,7.0,7.1
    Netscape Communicator version 4.7
    Mozilla Firefox version 1.0.4, 2.x, 3.0
    Google Chrome 5.0.375.125

    On Windows XP:
    Internet Explorer version 6.0, 7.0, 8.0

    On Mac OS:
    Internet Explorer version 5.0, 5.5
    Netscape version 6.1
    Netscape Communicator version 4.7
not it will be clear your misunderstanding.

    @krishnendu

Yes you are correct. I have Micromax MMX 300C HSIA Modem. I used Tata Photon,Reliance EVDO and MTS EVDO in it. I found MTS most user friendly, costwise comfortable, performance quite satisfactory than the other two(although Tata CDMA has better signal quality than MTS). For example MTS provides voice promo and data balance by just SMSing BAL to 51230 from my Data card directly.

@TT is there any evdo internet packs like MTS in docomo cdma?

In Tata Docomo CDMA, for EVDO:
    Rs.100 30 Days 256 MB CIMO HSIA Send ‘DB100’ to 58265
    Rs.300 30 Days 1 GB CIMO HSIA Send ‘DB300’ to 58265
    Rs.500 30 Days 2 GB CIMO HSIA Send ‘DB500’ to 58265

I had bad experiences with DB100 pack. These packs are auto renewable and when the data entilement is finished or 30 days are over Rs 100 is auto deducted. There is a system of deactivation of these packs. I wanted to deactivate DB 100 pack before 30 days but the sms mentioned in their website didnot work. Moreover there is no way to know HSIA pack data balance.Sending DP BAL to 58265 or 12524 returns error messages. I emailed and spoke to CC but no solution was provided. When DB100 data pack was active and I wanted to know data balance Tata DOCOMO CC told me that there was no data pack active on my account !!!

@subhendu they are ten times costlier than mts!could you use the sim in your modem?

Rs. 64 recharge gives 1p/4sec on-net and 1p/2sec off-net for 180 days which is much better than this Rs. 24 recharge, I think.

STV choice may vary person to person. I need STD on net so I need Rs. 25 STV which gives me cheapest on net STD on TATA.

do not expect such packs from tata docomo cdma. on new connection of docomo cdma they disabled internet access, though wap and brew is available, those packs (4.5GB@95) will work on brew/wap. for internet access on docomo cdma – there are some packs like 1 GB@500 or something like that.

@TT then there might be an article regarding lack of data services in cdma mobile(except mts)

old wine, the offer is available for last many months. atleast 6 months back, i got this done in punjab (rs 23/-) . but the least publisized offer is 36000 seconds for all networks local and national in Rs. 201/- valid for 30 d ays. call rate comes to almost 33 paisa per min. no other STV required. loose sms @5 paisa is available @ 29/- for 30 days (with initial 600 free). worst plans for data.

MTS introduced a new STV 145 with Rs 15 talktime and enjoy Local MTS to MTS @ 5p/min, other mobile @ 20p/min and STD @ 30p/min along with first 100 SMS Local/National will be free with a validity of 30 days.

This sounds the best budgeted plan so far compared to others.

Also, you forgot to mention MTS offers STV 191 with Rs 50 talktime; you can make all Local/STD @ 30p/min for 6 months if you are using regular STD calls

sorry..v v old news boss! I have been using this pack@Kolkata for several months!
What actually happened, I informed the telco that when this 24STV,(a very flexible pack)is available, what is the use of having other not-so-attractive packs. They agreed to my point and modified the site, keeping that intact and removing the info about other old packs. So, this magazine was attracted by that ‘conspicuous’change and has reported.
    This is what has happened.
How many know cdma loose sms is 5p/sms in indicom (monthly rental Rs 6 only)?
