Facebook acquired WhatsApp, Services to remain autonomous and operate independently

Facebook will be buying the popular multiplatform mobile messaging application Whatsapp for $19 billion. As part of the deal WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum will join Facebook's board, all though Facebook has their own popular chat app Facebook Messenger, just like they had their own photos platform before they bought Instagram.
