Manufactures generally tend to ignore their previous devices, especially when it comes to Mobile devices but Nokia proves that it’s something different. Attention Nokia 52XX series users.
Here is a good news and an example that Nokia even cares for its old models and strives for developing software as long as it can support its models.
Nokia has released a new firmware update for devices Nokia 5228, 5230, 5233, 5235, 5236 and the 5238. The new v50.x.xxx firmware for all these handsets brings some major changes.
The most important thing to be noted is that the Firmware update brings a new version of web browser V7.2 to the devices. The same web browser that is found in Symbian Anna. This new browser provides much improved Browsing experience.
The latest Browser supports multiple tabs and comes with lot of improvements. The update will also bring support for emoticons and the phone will also display a new big clock with time and date, when the menu button is pressed, whilst the phone is locked.
The handset can be unlocked by just swiping on the screen. Ovi Contacts will be removed from the phone, after the update.Besides the update also improves performance and stability issues along with some bug-fixes.

The update is available via OTA (Over The Air) as well as via NSU (Nokia Software Updater). Since the 52xx series phones support UDP (User Data Preservation), users don’t need to make a backup of data before proceeding with the firmware update. But we suggest you to have a backup of all your data using Nokia Back feature before performing an update.
Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, 5530 Xpress Music, C6-00,C5-00,C5-03,X6,N97 Mini ,Nokia E72,E52,E5, 6700slide,are on the list of getting this update.

As i am a fan of nokia phones i just request you that u make such an operating system for nokia phones which can supportes multiple O.S along with our symbian. Then
onwards no one can compitate with nokia.

Pls read the reviews in nokia forums b4 u update ur phone. bcoz there are also some bugs in all update. once we update there is no option for downgrade.

This major update not for ur 5220. It is only for symbian platform phone v3.2 and v5.0.

yes a complete new Qt based UI is coming for the Symbian ^3 users and its almost same as we have seen in the Nokia N9 MeeGo. Also a android like drop down notification bar is coming. I have seen some new UI prototype screenshots on Nokia site and the UI seems amazing. But the only thing remains unknown is release date.

Use pc and update i have no pc so i can’t update now.

Recently i updated my E 52. It was a big size update of 16MB. Web browser has improved but tier is one problem now. When ever i try to watch live Tv the phone freezes as soon as real player is opened, then one should remove the battery to restart the phone. Earlier version was fine for me, no bug at all.
