“Samsung ‘UltraTouch’ leads the portfolio of our high-end phone and it will further enhance our leadership in the premium full-touch market,” said Samsung India President and CEO Jung Soo Shin after launching the new phone here.
According to Sunil Dutt, Samsung Telecom Division’s Country Head, “With this latest offering, we now have four touch-screen phones in the Indian market.”
The entire portfolio of Samsung touch-screen phones is 3G enabled and priced between Rs. 17,790 and Rs. 32,200.
“We will be further strengthening our touch-screen portfolio in the coming months with more innovative launches. Based on the enhancement of our touch-screen and the multimedia phone portfolio, we hope multimedia phone segment to contribute 40-45 per cent of our total sales in 2009,” he said.

Mr. Dutt said Samsung was giving a special bundling offer for BSNL consumers on its select handsets to allow them to experience the full benefit of 3G services. “The special offer on Samsung phones — F480, L700 J800 and S7330 — in BSNL circles entails free SIM card, free airtime and free data downloads for pre-paid and post-paid customers,” he added.

27,500 would be too costly..It should be brought down to 15k. Then only there will be takers in india..

One nice phone by samsung….We were content with the S8300’s reception quality, although it wasn’t much different from other phones in this class. The ring tones volume was pretty average, and we even missed some calls when the phone was stuffed in a bag. The vibro alert was nothing to shout about either, as it hadn’t changed at all, compared the PIXON. The fact that there are two microphones housed on the S8300 makes your voice quality quite decent even when making a call on a busy street.
