Samsung’s Flawed Contest For GS3 Promotion

As we all know Samsung launched its Latest version of Galaxy S3 here in India. Ever since it’s been launched all the Samsung fan boys are exited about it’s latest feature of 4.8” of super AMOLED HD display, 1.4Ghz quad core, 1GB RAM, ICS 4.0.4 apart for this the latest S-voice, S-Beam, Pop-up Play enthralled all the Samsung as well as Smartphone fan boys.

Most of you knew that, Samsung has recently organized a contest on twitter with caption “TakeawayS3”. The main motto of this contest is “the more you tweet, the more the chances of winning Galaxy S3 for free” as you can what @Samsung_India has tweet here below.

Ever since the contest began tweeps started to tweet “TakeawayS3” using the hashtag, till date there were approximately 20,000+ tweets has been posted.

After a long wait today @Samsung_India has finally announced its three winners of “TakeawayS3” contest.

One can say that, this is one the biggest scam that has ever happened in twitter contest. The winners used the same strategy of using same sentence and tweet it for 1000+ times have a look at yourself.

@Karthik_Sams Tweets

As I have said many has tweet in a proper contest one tweet has said “I would stop having food, for you Samsung Galaxy SIII” other said “I would dump my girlfriend, for you Samsung Galaxy SIII”.

Let me remind you folks, the cost of each Samsung Galaxy SIII is approx Rs.43,000 and I really do not understand the strategy of @Samsung_India in announcing its winner for just some lame tweets, Samsung should come out and justify in announcing their “TakeawayS3” winners. What’s your opinion folks?

i think this article should be published in TOI by Apple, samsung india will sweat and the social media agency handling samsung page will finally get a lesson
and i must tell u that i know all winners of this contest personally, and they are hackers, its a complete shame.

I would agree to disagree with the word “Scam”….

The terms if the contest didnt specify as to what you have to be in the content of the tweet..

So the contestant took advantage of the loop hole… and noting else…

indeeed the tweets were lame.. but that doenst mean the contest was a Scam.. anybody cud win as it s in open platform…

This is a scam! Probably Samsung employees took part in the contest and broke the rules and took away those S3s all for them selves! This cheating..

Aircel too used such cheap tactic a few days back. They ran a contest in which people had to tweet what they would do with unlimited 3G. The tweeples had to use unltd3g@8 as the hashtag and the best tweet was to be awarded with htc one… But as far as I know, no winners were announced.

Luckily I didn’t play this contest! I knew there will definitely be a flaw in this contest also.
Even when there was a Samsung galaxy y duos contest they were lot of cheating taking place. For instance they game had to be finished ASAP, but the videos itself were for more than a 1 minute, but surprisingly many completed the game within 1 minute and some finished the game in just 1 second. The software is not designed properly to handle such kind of tactics.

@ Sujit agree with you but many might not think like that, many will be wasting time in deciding new lines.

hey they didnt said that you should give fantastic tweets.they just said ‘more you tweet the more chances for you to win’
if u had done more times than the winners you would have won.

This was a pathetic scheme and though it got the Galaxy S3 trending, everyone was spamming everyone else. But people grow weary of such tactics eventually. Let us hope you will think of something really creative next time Samsung.

I stopped trusting them since their last offer. Buy any samsung product and sms code to xxxxxx to get prizes. I compared list of all winners throughout the month and not even a single winner was of Bihar and Jharkhand. Weird when your sales are growing in double digits in these states. How come none has got any reward and most were from Delhi, Kolkata, Orisaa region.
They should launch regional offers when their target is certain regions only.

May b Samsung folks didnt bother to check the tweets.. might have used some sort of automated software to count tweets with hastag and grouping them by IDs.. and declared
