S Tel GSM Mobile Services Launched in Assam

S Tel, one of the youngest GSM Mobile service operator today embarked upon the next phase of its growth by announcing the launch of its GSM mobile services in Assam telecom circle starting with 26 key towns.

The company also announced that it will shortly be expanding its wings to the remaining cities of Assam and other North East states including Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunanchal Pradesh.

S Tel Starter Pack for prepaid will cost Rs.49 and it offers per second plan (1 p/ sec) for all local and STD callings with first time recharge of Rs. 6. Company also brings Limited Period Launch Offer – Full Talk Time on all top up denominations and highly affordable Rs. 11 SMS Pack, offering 1paisa/ local SMS, valid for 30 days have been introduced for consumers in Assam.

Speaking on the occasion of S Tel’s launch of services in Assam, Mr. Shamik Das, CEO, S Tel said, “We view mobile technology as important element for advancing socio-economic development in the state of Assam with teledensity as low as 31%.Our strategy is aimed at making benefits of mobility accessible first to under-penetrated markets of Assam and then gradually expanding to bigger towns, thus aiming to bridge the stratum divide as we roll out our services in phases across the region. Tinsukia, Sibsagarh, Noagoan, Tezpur and Bongaigaon are some key locations among the 26 towns in which S Tel’s services can be accessed presently.

By the end of this year, we plan to expand our reach across 90 major towns of Assam. We aim to provide a congestion free network with excellent voice quality to consumers in our markets of operation.Some other towns in Assam which will now be able to enjoy S Tel’s quality network include Gaurisagar, Nazira, Golaghat, Numaligarh, Hojai, Doboka, Lumding, Lanka, Diphu, Howraghat, Mangaldoi, Barpeta Road, Bilasipara etc.

S Tel also offers a bouquet of competitively priced VAS on both, SMS and voice platform. It has innovative VAS services on offer for customers in Assam such as S Tel Caller Tune, S Tel Voice Station and S Tel Rich SMS Service. S Tel Caller Tune includes a database of more than 1,000 songs in Assamese featuring singers such as Bhupen Hazarika, Zubeen Garg, Udit Narayan, Dikshu and Barnali. TATA DOCOMO IS THE MOST STUPID NETWORK IN NANDIGRAM.IT’S GIVING 2GB USAGE @Rs.48.ITS SO CHEAP BUT NOBODY CAN USE IT.NO SPEED,LINK IS DROPPING,WE CAN’T CONNECT NET PROPERLY.IT’S A BEGGAR’S COMPANY AND USED BY BEGGARS.ARTEL IS FAR BETTER IN THIS REGARD.

Stel Still Don’t have spectrum in guwahati, so cannot launch there… once spectrum is freed by defence forces or existing players who carry access spec. Stel will roll out in Guwahati.
