Before giving more offers Reliance should concentrate on their network first. Reliance boasts of their network that it is pan India, it is 3G ready etc etc. But in Kolkata their network has become pathetic. Even when you are 2 minutes away from the tower then also signal is not full. And if you keep the cell in pocket then the signal becomes very poor. This happens both for GSM and CDMA. In addition to that if you go under a roof or ground floor of a building then there is no network. Then what is the use of pan… Read more »

@Aamit Das

While you are right about the frequency advantage of the older operators, it is not true for Reliance GSM. Here in Poona, even if you get full signal strength, voice clarity can be absolutely pathetic. Operators newer than Reliance like Uninor, Docomo and even Aircel, which also operate in the 1800 MHz band, have much better networks than Reliance GSM both in terms of coverage and voice clarity.

Reliance Mobile is operating on 1800 mhz frequency. According to the technology Reliance has to set up more towers to cover up the area than those operators who operate on 900 mhz frequency like Airtel or Vodafone. Suppose if 1 tower of Airtel covers 5 km area. Then to cover that same area Reliance has to set up 2 to 3 towers. But when they will set up enough amount of towers then Everything will become ok. Then call clarity,coverage,connectivity everything will become ok. Because 1800 mhz frequency is a higher frequency. But till then we have to suffer a… Read more »
