Reliance Communications, India’s fully integrated telecommunications service provider, today revised its GPRS packs across all circles and the revised packs will now offer lesser data at same cost.
The Rs.99 plan which was offering upto 6GB of data which was a promotional offer as we shared earlier on oct 7th 2011 will now offer 2GB all over India which is going to badly hit Reliance subscribers.
Where as in Orrisa Reliance was offering unlimited data at Rs.99 which is now cut down to 5GB.Previously if a customer opted E-Recharge were getting 6GB of data where as if a customer opted paper coupon Reliance was offering 2.5GB.
If you are a Reliance Mobile customer we now request you to check with your customer care service prior activating any GPRS plan .How do look at this move by Reliance do let us know via comments.

Jatin July 16, 2012 at 10:08 pm
RELIANCE IS BAD!!! No point in believing these reduction offers.. Reliance keeps changing them.. Recently in mumbai circle, they changed the validity of Rs. 148 local minutes pack from 30 days to 15 days.. You can call it an increase in tariff by 100%.. PEHLE SASTA DO PHIR LOOTO..

Reliance has better to close 2G data plan which has no value for money. It will be good than giving worst speed.
Kapil March 30, 2012 at 10:28 pm
best plan loop mobile 2GB for only rs. 28 for 30 days at good speed 32kbps. for dkg customer.
Shah Rukh March 30, 2012 at 7:03 pm
You are right about reliance yes it will give you 6GB but speed is maximum 3.50kbps.I tried for a month but couldn’t finish 6 GB instead of using reliance you can choose Airtel. You can try Rs.145 plan in that you will get 2GB FOR DAY 2GB FOR KNITE 30 FREE SONGS 200 MB FACEBOOK BROWSING.I am using Internet since from last 4 years and i have great experience about Internet.
Amit March 30, 2012 at 3:58 pm
Earlier I used to mock at reliance users but now reliance has started working like a charm for the last one and half year and now it was their turn to make mockery of my AIRTEL speed untill I changed it to other service provider (not reliance) but I can guarantee that no one can match reliance in terms of speed atleast in our town at present.
barunj March 30, 2012 at 3:46 pm
I am in West Delhi. Reliance 2g GPRS pack internet speed below 10 kbps (between 1 to 5 kbps). One song download take 2 to 3 hours but disconnects during that period. So it’s not fulfill requirement
Amit March 30, 2012 at 3:41 pm
@Susanta
And when I complained to AIRTEL regarding speed issue, their executives tried hard to make me believe that there was nothing wrong on their side and there may be some problem in my handset and this despite telling them that if there was any problem in my handset, I would not have been able to surf the net on another network either. And interestingly when I visited nearby town, there was no such issue on AIRTEL network. But as usual AIRTEL executives were not willing to listen to me (specially those female executives who would end the call in a hurry). This made me sick of AIRTEL and finally shifted to other service provider for GPRS use. There seems to be a day light difference between the approach of Tata Docomo (from your experience) and AIRTEL.

I never use BSNL for GPRS.will u explain me about BSNL GPRS,i.e,it’s speed,GPRS pack etc etc? I want to use it,because of,in Telecom talk,Many people said that BSNL is best GPRS and sometimes it gives 3G speed. But,I can not assure about the comments.Currently, I am using TATA Docomo for GPRS.
JNS March 30, 2012 at 12:34 pm
My experiannce with Rel.net usage was very bad.On getting connected, you get charged is OK,but on idle connection, nobody charges their own customer. The fine print for net usage is that you r chrgd 0.60 ps per min.even if you are not surfing.

@Susanta @Anoop
If Tata docomo keeps this kind of service support and expand its network, then it will be the most reliable operator in India.
teletalk March 30, 2012 at 12:00 pm
right decision because in gujarat we enjoy 6gb gprs at Rs.99 but we cannot use the whole data due to low download speed at 10 to 15kbps so we use onle 2gb data in whole month so we cannot feel any changes in this plan
soumya March 30, 2012 at 11:30 am
i am facing problem with bsnl. in my room when i connect to internet in my laptop by a data card( d link usb modem ). the speed is 10 kb/sec, when i take my laptop to the barandah, the speed increases by 1 mbps ( rs 54 data card ). i cant surf internet in my room. although the singal is full, to download i have to take my laptop to barandah. the problem is channel or port problem. i got so many call from bsnl. but they could not solve my problem. the signal come from same tower in room and barandah. i am upset.
Md Rajaul March 30, 2012 at 10:37 am
Use BSNL.It is the BEST.

I too had such a good support experience from docomo. I too had a low speed gprs issue & complined 2 times. then call fron nodal officer followd by a team of 2 technical persons came to my house. & finally found that the issue is because, here docomo is using aircel tower with a 2g ICR. previously it was docomo’s own tower. Here in TN circle aircel is very congested & very slow speed. But the team assured me that they will highlight the issue to aircel. In the mean time docomo cc continuously make a followup with me & aircel. After 1 week another team from aircel come to my house. u may not believe, all these happen for a prepaid connection. But aicel people cant solve the issues as it is not a single case of low speed. finely i changed to Reliance for gprs & docomo for calls. now happy.

i dont think this is going to affect the customers very much because the speed of reliance gprs is so bad that we dont get more than 20-25kbps not even on usb modems so i dont think we can consume that much data even in 30 days of validity net surfers should opt docomo or vodafone to do hassel free surfing on their mobile and on computer were you will get a speed of atleast 120 -180 kbps
siva March 30, 2012 at 6:54 am
In tamilnadu which network is best 2G ? Docomo? BSNL? Reliance?
KOU§IK March 29, 2012 at 10:50 pm
(1) Reliance gprs speed is very slow in West Bengal cricle.Surfing speed is 1KB – 4KB maximum. And i can’t download any file over 100kb.
(2) Now i m using my name (KOUSIK) as APN replacing smartnet and i m getting better speed than SMARTNET/SMARTWAP.So if u are a reliance gprs user in ROWB cricle use Other service providers gprs settings u ll get better speed.
aks March 29, 2012 at 10:03 pm
Rs.98 recharge is working fine for Kolkata BSNL SIM. No speed capping. Getting around 2.1 Mbps average speed.
Susanta March 29, 2012 at 9:33 pm
Hello frnds i want to share my experience about TATA DOCOMO. I live in very small town of north bengal. Its a very small town. I m jst a customer as like as u. I rechrged Rs-65 (2.5gb for 30day) on 5th march bt i cant able 2 surfing not more than 50mb for next 18days only the reason of bad signal nd low gprs speed. Then i complain C.C but i was unsatisfied with their answer then again i complain NODAL OFFICER on the next 3days they have called 5times to get my actual position i mean my postal address nd place mark where i live. Dont u belive that 1 NETWORK ENGINEER, 1 TECHNISION OF DOCOMO were came to meet with me from kolkata nd siliguri taking with their networking instrument. I was surprised on 23rd march at about 11am they ringed me nd said- sir r u susanta. I m Shivkumar from tata docomo technical team. At 3pm i need to meet with to check ur network related problem. On 4o clok they come with their car nd they were with me around 4hrs nd try to solve my problem as4 as possbl. Nw in my area I can bet Docomo is faster than other network nd speed is awasom 65kp/s all the time nd after midnght 85-90kp/s. Thanks docomo u came nd u pesonaly solve my problem. Thank u.

recharge with rcv 54,i think u will also get that speed.
But though when i recharge with rcv 98 the speed is capped at only 120kbps(15kb/sec).
kavin March 29, 2012 at 9:07 pm
honey moon time is over for 2g… time to wake up…
2g= 3g = 1gb 50rs…
will be standard..
when u can get 21mbps why opt for 128kbps will be the mantra for 3g
sure 4g will be huge jump.. but when compared to price in usa, we are literally charged 1/10th.. its no issue…
i wish everyone to standardise the rates uniformly and stop rate cutters…
no confusion no freebies.. no cheatings.. no hidden plans..
want 2g=3g=4g=fibre optic same tariff..
similarly no more local/std and roaming, it should be pan india charges.
i would like the option of customer choosing any network( home or roaming) for call, so that he can make calls in other network when home signal is weak , may be at a little premium price…
avisek March 29, 2012 at 9:07 pm
use bsnl 2g gprs pack and use 3g network then connct internet .YOU will get high speed in 2g recharge.
siva March 29, 2012 at 8:56 pm
I was used Rs.63 / 2.5gb pack. What is the change on it? Anybody tel me guys.
Pankaj March 29, 2012 at 8:40 pm
Downloading speed is only 8-10kbps,,,,by cutting the 6GB plan 2GB is not so surprising as users are not be able to finish up the whole 6gb…………..FOR ME….BSNL IS THE BEST
chandra March 29, 2012 at 8:18 pm
USE TATA DOCOMO GPRS/EDGE
I’M GETTING SPEED OF 20 TO 40 KBPS DOWNLOADING SPEED
IT’S BEST

Yes. In these competitive world, Reliance is doing a very damn fade thing. i.e the reason why the customers are trending towards the New entrants

sayan please reply how do u get 3.1mbps-4.1mbps speed everytime on hsdpa mode. please say. me from dugapur( burdwan).

Although reliance is advertising so much for their city UNLIMITED plan 169 which provides unlimited data usage for one month just at rs. 169 which is applicable to some of the rural areas and my area falls one of them but the interesting fact is that neither retailers are willing/able to activate the service nor company customer care can do it. I have raised the complaint on 23rd march vide request id 175441322 but after 5days of time without doing anything they have generated another request 175824716 and asked me to again for further 5days. Shame on you reliance!
Debasish Mitra March 29, 2012 at 7:37 pm
bsnl best in gprs…
270 10gb 30 days
98 2gb 30 days
left usage and validity increases if u recharge before the expiry date.
singh March 29, 2012 at 7:23 pm
this is not the good move by reliance…they are providing good speed(@28kb/sec.) but also having a problem of coverage…..!!
Pavan March 29, 2012 at 7:21 pm
Airtel in Bangalore is giving good speed. Almost all the time I’m getting 25 – 30 kBps.. During nights and mornings it reaches 40kBps
ved March 29, 2012 at 6:53 pm
Hope now they don’t cap the speed as earlier when there is no unlimited plan i use to get 32KBps but after the unltd plan i get only 7-9KBps…Hope Reliance will not cap speed now……..
pankaj saha March 29, 2012 at 6:47 pm
how can u get..?explain plz
Sayan Chattopadhyay March 29, 2012 at 6:23 pm
Last used it 15 days ago, speed was capped at 64kbps(8kb/sec) on umts/hspa mode and 40-96kbps(5-12kb/sec) on edge mode.
So for me bsnl is the best, 3.1mbps-4.1mbps speed everytime on hsdpa mode.

yes it is true they discontinued all old pack but there is 1 gprs pack available which is Rs.101 pack which offers 4Gb data with 30 days validity.
Kirti Raj Chahar March 29, 2012 at 5:25 pm
GPRS speed is already caped by Reliance (as i am reliance customer my net speed is 7KBps in UTMS/HSPA mode, and 3-11 KBps in EDGE mode) now they have decrease the data also in plan 99, so the Reliance GPRS will became total waste of money. Due to this Reliance will lost subscribe base. Now i will move to BSNL because in BSNL; plan 98 (2GB data), very good speed in UTMS/HSPA mode 20-30KBps.
AsitPaul March 29, 2012 at 5:23 pm
Data demand is increasing day by day whereas operators are decreasing limit. AirTel offering 1GB for Rs.98, Vodafone 2GB, Idea 2GB, BSNL 2GB and Only Aircel is providing Unlimited here (FUP, 70MB/Day)
Durga March 29, 2012 at 5:20 pm
reliance is too slow in odisha…
vikash March 29, 2012 at 5:09 pm
maine to reliance ki gprs service hi use karni hi band kar di hai because isne apni speed 35 kbps se 6 kbps kar di hai. Go for aircel and get 32 kbps speed.
