Reliance Jio Infocomm Gets LRN Code for Seamless Mobile Number Portability, Now One Can Port-Out from 2G, 3G to Opt 4G

India's Department of Telecom (DoT) today issued Location Routing Numbers (LRN) for seamless Mobile Number Portability Service to Reliance Jio Infocomm which is going to launch 4G Mobile and Broadband services soon.

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is a special facility where a mobile subscribers can retain the original mobile number despite changing the service provider or telecom operator.

With the allocation of LRN to Pan India 4G spectrum holder Reliance Jio (RJIL) for all 22 telecom circles, now any GSM or CDMA (2G or 3G) mobile service user can port-out from his/her operator to opt out 4G mobile services of Reliance JIO without changing the mobile number.

Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) is rapidly deploying its infrastructure across 20 cities in various circles to launch its 4G LTE service for mobile customers over LTE enabled smart-phones as well as Only data customer via 4G dongles.

As earlier we shared on TelecomTalk, DoT  has also allocated 22 million numbers (2.2 crore numbers) in 70 series and Network Code (MCC and MNC) for all 22 circles to Reliance Jio Infocomm to launch its 4G services.
