Just use this phone for a month and you wud come to know of reality. It is a cheap, low quality phone. Using it for a month. It is a very low end Android 2.4 phone which is suited for just a basic phone usage.

1.) It has just 140MB internal user memory and 400 MB RAM. Since the phone is just suited for basic phone usage, 400 MB is enough. On updating the stock apps, only 70 MB is left. These inbuilt apps use internal memory for cache & data so say 20 MB more is used by them. Now several apps for 2.3 compatibility are still supported only on phone memory. Also even if a apps is movable to SD card, it uses 1-10 MB on internal memory. So on just installing 3-4 apps memory is finished and you get a warning.

2.) Installing more than 8-10 apps leads to phone crash/restarts and other issues.

3.) Also, the phone has tendency of damaging/corrupting SD card. SD card above 4 GB don’t work properly; frequently corrupted.

4.) Battery level shown is inaccurate many times. Processor sometimes goes in deep sleep many times so that pressing on Power button takes 5 secs to wakeup phone.

5.) Signal reception is not best and fluctuates.

6.) Using advanced features like WiFI, tethering leads to frequent phone crash/restart.

7.) Phones heats up quickly while talking (sometimes even in 3-4 minutes).

8.) Several bugs in software, both Android 2.3 & ZTE

On an all, a very average phone. Not value for money compared to what one can get in same amount for GSM. It can best serve as basic phone or first Android phone for someone who has never used Android phones earlier. If someone has used Samsung, HTC Android phones then it would be a let down. Also, if someone has used Android 4.x phones then also it would be a disappointment.

What will be the EVDO data charges after the bundled six months period. Technically is it costlier to provide EVDO than 3G data over phone?

Motorola ELECTRIFY (Photon 4G MB855) is the answer for this. I am using Motorola Milestone XT800 and I am quite satisfied . Why should I buy locked phone when OMH is the buzz word now .
