LG Electronics a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, today unveiled Vx10000 the high end CDMA mobile phone in India with Reliance Mobile. The Vx10000 looks very similar to HTC mobile phones and the Nokia E90 the communicators but unlike the communicator this will have a 2.8 inch full touch screen display. The LG Vx10000 is a dual screen phone, two 400×240 widescreen LCDs drive the unit, and both the internal and external screens measure 2.81″ diagonally.

Idea Cellular today announced the launch of its 2.75G EDGE enabled GSM network in Assam with this launch idea cellular is in near completion of its pan-India network rollout with presence in 21 telecom circles in India.
IDEA has started an exclusive portal ‘Asomi Aai Rupohi’ in Assamese language for the mobile users in the region. The portal will offer Assamese songs, movie reviews and other rich content targeted at the youth.

The number of telephone subscribers in India has increased to 525.65 million as on October 31, 2009, compared with 509.03 million posted in September-2009.
The subscriber growth registered a 3.26 per cent, which helped in which helped in improving overall tele-density in India to 44.87.
Wireless subscriber base increased from 471.73 million in September 2009 to 488.40 million at the end of October 2009 at a monthly growth rate of 3.53 per cent, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Read more…
Tata Docomo the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices Limited, today slashed its roaming tariff introducing per-second billing for all calls made or received while ‘roaming’ across the country, at its existing tariff of 1 paisa per second for both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers.
From Monday, while roaming, subscribers can make calls across India at 1 paisa per second, across all 15 Circles where Tata Docomo has launched GSM services, regardless of which network or type of phone the call is made to.Furthermore, incoming calls while roaming will also be charged on a per-second basis, at 1 paisa per second. “They’re with the labourers, also with the kids, they’re with the elite, and too with the freaks!” Yea, you must have seen them almost everywhere, almost every class of people carrying them. If you’re still wondering, they are Chinese cellphones. Nothing has invaded our “connected” lives in so convincing a fashion in every possible form. Yet, most of us are sceptical whether to buy them or not.
This article will try to take on points regarding those Chinese phones (“masterpieces” as one might call them cynically, I call ‘em “souvenir of advanced Chinese technology”, LOL) and help you decide if you want to really go for one of them, holding back your fascinations on the ones from Nokia or other reputed stables.
How much do these cost?
Undoubtedly, as all of you know, these things are real cheap, I mean dirt cheap. The value for money one can derive is awesome compared to reputed branded handsets costing 3-10 times a Chinese phone. Once I was chatting with the sales manager of a Chinese phone manufacturer. He quoted that its the cheap labor and economies of scale that they can produce tri SIM mid-range handsets for $40 (<Rs.2000) at their factory. Normally those sell for $80 after being passed on to distributors and retailers including import/export fees. Low end basic ones might cost $15 to produce there, who knows? Read more…
