Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today expands its 3G Mobile and Data service coverage in 2 more Districts in the state of Kerala by launching much awaited 3G mobile services in the Kollam city, Punalur, Karunagappally (District-Kollam), Pathanamthitta and Sabrimala which is known as Headquarters of Pilgrimage (Disrtict Pathanamthitta) in the state.

BSNL offers new 3G GSM Prepaid connection at Rs.59 wherein subscriber can enjoy lowest Video, Voice and Data tariff after the First Recharge.The existing BSNL GSM mobile service subscribers  in Kerala can upgrade the present 2G/2.5G services connection to 3G/3.5G services connection by sending SMS M3G120 to 53733. In response to the activation request SMS, confirmation to activate 3G services will be asked. To confirm 3G Services Activation it is required to send again an SMS M3G120Y to 53733. India’s third generation (3G) mobile services spectrum auction may be delayed by 6 months or being pushed back to next fiscal year from the original date of auction.The Law Minister of India, Mr. Veerappa Moily, who is member of the EGoM (Empowered Group of Ministers), has opined that the auction should he held when the spectrum is available.

The 3G auction process was earlier scheduled to begin on Jan 14 but got delayed due to uncertainty over the number of slots and unavailability of the 3G spectrum, Now the 3G auction is expected to take place in August September this year. Some time back the Ministry of Defense had agreed to vacate the spectrum only during middle of this year so now the auction will be held when the spectrum vacated by Defense. Read more…
