Telecom Operators in Nepal charged a lot for Call Termination by Indian operators so at present MTNL or any other Indian operators not able to reduce the ISD Call rates for Nepal.
Arjun A November 13, 2010 at 1:17 pm
You are right about the volumes being the highest to USA and Canada. But the volume of calls to Nepal makes it one of the top 5 destinations from India. But why is the call rate still so high ? Probably because we do not have a direct cable link with them. Which if true is quite shameful for us. We should have cheap calling rates to all SAARC countries.

We can say that its really great offer without any special rate cutter, security deposit & also their is no restrictions for use of minutes. Really superb offer from MTNL Team.
Just before new year & Christmas

No other operator is following this drive of MTNL. At least BSNL should follow it soon.

Isd rates are decided by the volumes or MOUs that are generated between the two countries. As maximum traffic is into the us we get cheap rates to that country.
madhu prasad November 12, 2010 at 8:52 pm
Call rate to farthest country like US and Canada rs 1 per minute, but your CALL RATE to nearest neighbour NEPAL still rs. 10 per minute. I really dont understand this logic.
