Vodafone Essar, India's 2nd largest GSM Mobile services provider, has announced the launch of a new innovative Value Added Service which will help subscribers to book movie tickets just by an sms known as "SMS BALCONY". Currently the service is launched for Vodafone customers of Kerala in association with Experion Technologies.
The service aims at linking movie goers and theaters via the mobile service provider network's through SMS. Apart from booking, it has functions similar to the internet - search features of listing movies in a town, seat availability check etc. via SMS! With the launch of this product, movie ticket reservation for the common man is just an SMS away.
Vodafone customers can book their tickets by sending an SMS "BALCONY" to 52627.
The customer will get the complete booking details via a response message. The service is currently available at 55 select theatres across Kerala state, making it the most viable option for Vodafone subscribers to book their movie tickets, three days prior to the actual show. The service is charged at Rs.5 per SMS.
Steps to SMS Balcony Service-:
SMS <No.of tickets, town code, theatre name, show name and date> to 52627. For Example; To book three tickets in Ernakulam Shenoys for 1st show on the 19th of August, the format to be sent as SMS is <BOOK3 EKMSHENOYS FS 19> to 52627
If tickets are available, customers will receive a booking code as a reply.
Show this booking code at the counter just half an hour before the show commences and claim your tickets by paying over the counter.
Note: To know the code of your town, just <SMS TOWNCODE> to 52627. Eg; SMS <TOWNCODE ERNAKULAM> to 52627
