BSNL Mh Goa going to launch his 3G services in Jan 10 1st week. 3G services expansion work is in progress & they completed 40% work of Goa state, they will launch it soon, Sanjayji Please keep us updated on the same, if it is true.

Hey mate, its already available in Pune city. Here, 3G sim cards are already available from last 6-8 months or so, also the recharge vouchers. I don’t know whether it is commercially lunched or not but this is what current scenario is. Even at my place(SB Road), whenever I search manually with any other sim in my N79, it shows 3G symbol in front of BSNL MOBILE, means BSNL network is 3G enabled. I have checked at many places in city & almost at all places, 3G is available. I think it is only launched in Pune city & its suburb areas but not in rural parts.

5230 has 3G but no wi-fi while 5530 has wi-fi & lots of power packed features but NO 3G. Oh Nokia.. What if I want both in single phone (touch screen).. Only option remains is year old 5800XM. It again suck as it has no kinetic scrolling, a basic feature in touch screen phone.
5530 should have been 3G enabled.Otherwise it has lots of power packed features.

U feel very much disappointed about Secondary video call camera… Are you a MTNL customer??? Even BSNL is very very lazy in expanding its 3G services..

No I am not but 3G is available at my place (from BSNL). Also its not too far from private operators. So a secondary camera & 3G is a basic need of day. I already have 3G enabled & sec. camera equipped phone but apart from that if Nokia don’t provide these facilities at the cost of 14000 bucks, then its a shame..

nokia 5230 does not have secondary video call option, by which one can make videocall or videoconferencing. how stupid of nokia to launch a 3G phone but without secondary video. it would not have cost them more than rs.150-200 to incorporate a secondary video.
what’s the use of this phone if one cannot do video calls/conferencing! what is 3G after all for? also, there is no flash. can you imagine a rs.9500 phone without a flash! again the same stupidity by nokia and the same would have not costed more than rs.100-150.
secondary video + flash would have costed about rs.300-400 more only! a person buying a phone for rs.9500 wouldn’t have minded paying additional for these basic and important features!
nokia designers are a bunch of idiots or must have slept or drunk during designing this phone!

Really stupid then.. I was unaware of this. Even 5530 does not have secondary camera neither the 3G as I dicussed above. Seems old 5800 is still better option but only feature missing in this phone is kinetic scrolling.. Even low budget Samsung Star has this feature but 5800 hasn’t.. shame on Nokia. But personally I think Nokia is still a better option for non touch screen phones.
