In an effort to provide more value for money services, country’s only CDMA-only operator MTS India revised its data plans for mobile users in Kolkata and West Bengal.
Earlier we reported introduction of data plans for mobile users by MTS India which was kind of industry’s first as the packs can be used on 1X and HSD both depending upon your mobile’s compatibility.
Earlier 2GB and 6GB packs are priced at Rs 97 and Rs 147 respectively, with this new revision these packs will cost Rs 90 and Rs 140. The price value of other packs remains same.

“as the packs can be used on 1X and HSD both depending upon your mobile’s compatibility.” – does this mean a person with Mtag will enjoy 6 GB @ Rs. 140 @Up to 3.1 Mbps…If that is the case then this is definitely going to be the game changer in the industry. And one more thing doers anyone know whether one can connect Mtag with Laptop/PC as a Modem..If yes plz lemme know the procedure…sum1 frm kol plz post a review of MBLAZE/MTag

I am getting poor speed due to poor network in my area. Today I have checked the speed at Minto Park where signal was very good and results are speedtest.net/result/1763861809.png.Is there any way to inform MTS about poor signal via email??? Will it work???
Amit February 10, 2012 at 8:59 pm

In Kolkata,MTS has large no. of internet subscribers that may be the reason behind the issue.
Avishek Ghosh February 8, 2012 at 6:06 pm
I get around 1.5 Mbps DL average & 2-2.5 highest speed…One of my friend from Bolpur,WB gets average 2.5 Mbps…..Just now I am getting 2700 kbps which is equivalent to 340 KB/sec which is very good….

ravi shekhar February 7, 2012 at 2:17 pm
Affordable plans. Tata and Reliance should follow MTS.
ravi shekhar February 7, 2012 at 2:13 pm
Why MTS is changing recharge denominations regularly???? Anyway speed is much better than GPRS/EDGE.
krishnendu February 7, 2012 at 11:35 am
As you can see its valid in roaming users from other circles could use it by taking a kolkata RUIM!
Rafeek February 7, 2012 at 11:34 am
No…. the modem locked with TATA
Jagan T February 7, 2012 at 11:21 am
This plan is nice. Why Reliance CDMA dont offer this kind of plans?
amar February 7, 2012 at 11:03 am
@neesha
Your tata photon whiz modem is a locked device by tata so you can’t use mts sim on that
neesha February 7, 2012 at 8:39 am
hello guys please tell me can i use mts sim in my tata photon whiz modem which is 1x cdma modem
Rajesh February 7, 2012 at 12:33 am
Why Calcutta & WB ???? What abt other circle customers???
Esmail February 7, 2012 at 12:18 am
Why are they concentrating only on Kolkata and WB, why not launch the same plan Pan India. And they should also provide details for sms based activation of EVDO service on OMH sim in every circle.
Arghya Saha February 6, 2012 at 11:04 pm
^^ we cant activate these plans on mtag sim cards…
PD February 6, 2012 at 10:31 pm
Attractive offer ! Would like to opt if available in Mumbai !
XEON February 6, 2012 at 10:29 pm
Great Offer, I get 3.1Mbps Speed in MTS Mtag mobile
krishnendu February 6, 2012 at 9:59 pm
Not much different from previous offers!Mts needs to improve their coverage even if it needs a little price hike.
Sougata Dhar Chowdhury February 6, 2012 at 9:58 pm
@Steve
It is EVDO rev A with max speed of 3.1mbps
@PALASH PAL
No, it is not possible yet. It is done for some non-RUIM handsets at Mumbai circle only by an importer, but he has not succeeded in doing it for other circles. Registering foreign MEID is toughest for MTS (it is tougher than a-kay enabled Tata DoCoMo CDMA). Best option for using foreign handset is using hTc Incredible 2 (a world phone) imported from USA and converted into an OMH (with special ROM) which can accept any connection, GSM (SIM) or CDMA (RUIM).
PALASH PAL February 6, 2012 at 8:57 pm
Great news.I want to know that, can i use imported non sim based foreign cdma handset with MTS?It is possible with RCOM cdma.What about MTS?Does MTS support foreign MEID.If yes please provide details.
Rafeek February 6, 2012 at 8:41 pm
