how is the mts network in kerala,

  • SS November 26, 2013 12:04 pm

For those who use MTS i just want to ask that MTS is present only in limited circles but if you take your phone in a circle where MTS doesn’t operate, is it still operable. In other words, whether MTS has roaming agreements with reliance or TATA in those circles.

i think u belong from upeast and presently in Delhi…. so i want to tell u….

Today I saw a advertise on tv abt mts now on 3g network with speed upto 9.8mbps……i wanted to ask how can a cdma service provider can provide 3g access?..though its of no use as mts not present in maharashtra but just for GK

    • SS November 25, 2013 9:21 pm

3G somehow is a slang term in technical language but we use it most commonly so lets stick to it.

In gsm language 3g means HSPA (HSDPA&HSUPA), in cdma language 3g means EVDO rev 2.

        Thank u

    • rahul November 26, 2013 11:58 am

      They cant.

They just use that name because its more popular, and most of their customers, like you, will not know the difference. BTW, EVDO is slower than HSPA and LTE (assuming your 3G or 4G provider is actually giving you proper speed.

    • Mehboob Hossain November 25, 2013 8:39 pm

Go for MTS. Its superb coverage in kolkata as well as in WB. As it is CDMA network coverage, indoor coverage is better even than Airtel and vodafone. I am usuing since one year and I am totally satisfied. you can buy dual sim of micromax GC333 for one CDMA and other GSM connections.

I have a 13 months old MTS connection and currently using STV 48 for getting 1p/2s benefit. Can someone please tell me whether I would get the 1p/2sec benefit or not if I recharge with plan voucher 4 which is valid for 180 days?

        • Udayan Ray November 27, 2013 5:02 pm

It is a FRC..not a STV like Rs. 48/-..better recharge with RC88 with 85000 secs for MTS2MTS calls and 15000 secs for MTS2other local n/w(incl Landline)..valid for 30 days..if you exhaust it..recharge twice and even then you spend less than 200 per month..!!
