MTS, the CDMA Mobile and Data service operator today announced that it has felicitated the Freedom Fighters with MTS Products and Services as a token of gratitude for their role in leading India to freedom after a long struggle against the colonial rulers as a part of the Independence Day celebrations.
MTS is also extending the facilitation of 10 freedom fighters each, in all its operating circles and will offer free products and services on the occasion of Independence Day for an year. Each circle head offices will honour these freedom fighters in MTS offices across the 12 circles in India.
President and CEO of SSTL, Mr. Vsevolod, Rozanov, after unfurling the Indian national flag at the corporate centre, presented the MTS products including high speed data service, Mblaze, to the freedom fighters and the entire staff of the corporate centre joined the salutation.
At the corporate centre, Mr. Jagram Yadav, a freedom fighter who was the bodyguard of the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose who led the Indian National Army ( in the photo with Vsevolod) and Mr. Buddhan, another freedom fighter was facilitated today. Both are residents of the State of Haryana where the MTS corporate centre is located.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vsevolod Rozanov said, “We salute the passion of Indian heroes who fought for the freedom of India . Through this gesture we welcome the Indian freedom heroes into the MTS family and help them stay connected with their near and dear ones.”

Sistema Shyam TeleServices on Thursday said it has received a loan of Rs 1,300 crore from State Bank of India to be used for pan-India expansion.
Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) is a joint venture between Russia-based Sistema and the Shyam Group of India. Sistema holds majority 74 per cent equity in SSTL, which operates MTS brand of telecom service in India.
State Bank of India has already given a Rs 4,500 crore fund and non fund based limit to SSTL, the company said in a press statement.
MTS has plans to use the loan for pan-India expansion, capital as well as operating expenses along with introducing cutting edge technology for its customers in India.
“The amount will be utilised to fund our expansion plans and to introduce new products and services in the most competitive telecom market of India,” SSTL Corporate Finance and Treasury director Ilya Kosolapov said.
Currently, MTS services are available across 12 telecom circles and has a six million subscriber base along with over a hundred and fifty thousand data customers. SSTL has been allocated spectrum to provide mobile telephony services in all the 22 circles, across the country……
