Esmail December 10, 2011 at 12:36 pm
The 4500 unlimited plan is definitely available in mumbai, Its the best that is being offered in India as far as HSDPA (3.5G) is concerned. Hope it never gets withdrawn from Mumbai circle. I get an average download speed of 2.3Mbps with MTNL 3G

Yaar I was saving money to avail that offer. But unfortunately MTNL stopped it for new customers. Bad Luck for me.
Sharma October 13, 2011 at 1:32 am
Very beautifully said Bro! And completely agree with you that other private operators are affected by it and hence MTNL was forced to withdraw it!
rohit October 12, 2011 at 10:13 pm
i dont agree …. about misuse…how u say that…i taking a plan which give me to use 800gb (unlimited) and i use it…this is my right to use….because i m paid for that plan….its totally under my control that how to use…
in other word i opt for unlimited plan and i used only 2 gb instead of 800gb in 6 month….that also a misuse of plan and my money to…lol
i m also tell to all that i used that plan after agree the mtnl term and condition and i don’t broke the term and condition…
now
why mtnl withdraw that plan which is best plan of 3g(profit wise)
mtnl extend this plan because its give him profit that other plan
MARKET POLICY
THIS PLAN IS KILLER PLAN FOR OTHER OPERATOR (ALSO A KILLER PLAN FOR MTNL BROADBAND -LANDLINES )….CORRUPTION CORRUPTION CORRUPTION
FORCED TO WITHDRAW THE PLAN BY OTHERS OR JUST A SIMPLE CORRUPTION
**** MTNL KILL THE HEN WHICH GIVE GOLDEN EGG TO GIVE BENEFIT TO OTHER****

@ Mustan
If you are getting a salary of say Rs.1 Lakh Per Month and suddenly say due to recession if your salary is brought down to just Rs.20-25,000 Per Month in name of rationalization of work force, will you then accept it? But at the same time if your salary is brought down to Rs.90,000 or even Rs.80,000, you will accept is grudgingly given the situation.
Same way when somebody is offered 200GB/month for Rs.750, it would be logical and practical to offer 50-60GB for Rs.750/month or 25-30GB for Rs.500/month in the name of rationalization. Thats what most consumer expect or want! Any thing less that that is termed as cheating and breaing of trust and faith!
This is not a rational move but rather certainly an extreme measure by MTNL!
Shivendra October 11, 2011 at 10:18 pm
What do you mean by misuse? Just because your network cannot handle the traffic, you call it misuse? MTNL, do you think that customers are fools? Sorry, but we don’t buy it. If you plan to offer unlimited plans, make sure that your network can handle the traffic.
Mustan October 11, 2011 at 9:48 pm
Dear Mr. Sinha,
MTNL gave Unlimited usage at great speeds for only 750 but people misused it by downloading more than even 800GB of data a month.. and the best part is they even did it in roaming on BSNL network.
Has any other operator come even marginally ..i will say even half as close to the amount of downloads offered by MTNL at at average speed of 2MBPS and unlimited usage on Wired or Wireless??
This is not an extreme measure rather it is a rational move.
ramesh October 11, 2011 at 9:22 pm
for rs.499/month for 6 months @ 25gb/month, it works out to Rs.3000/6months and total 150gb/6months of consumption (if everyone uses it fully)! you mean to say people who could afford rs.3000 were able to afford rs.4500 and 200gb*6 months = 1200gb did not put load on the infrastructure but 150gb for 6 months or 25gb/month will put it! wow what logic man!
please tell in which part of the world and which sensible company will withdraw a product which is doing well? only when there is corruption or mole in the company who works for the interest for competitors do good products/services are withdrawn or fail! i think there must have been intense pressure and lobbying by private operators through powerful people in the government to withdraw this unlimited plan because many of their potential and existing 3G customers were moving away to mtnl.
sad that bsnl and mtnl are getting rotten by the day and are under performing under pressure from private operators. bsnl and mtnl will be 100% become the next air india!
Ravi October 11, 2011 at 8:24 pm
BSNL sud learn from this.
josf October 11, 2011 at 7:54 pm
bsnl is increasing its tariff 2g/3g but mtnl reducing its tariff 2g/3g i can’t understand government company views bsnl ceo recently said he’s having idea of selling bsnl tower/maintanance to private then it will be a fate to all bsnl customers in many remote area bsnl is having 2g coverage, all pvt operator want to use bsnl tower for coverage expansion so that only they may ask that uday CEO of bsnl announced the offer irritating bsnl service and officials no immediate action first try to improve then u may sell bsnl towers to pvt operators
Ankur Mhatre October 11, 2011 at 5:30 pm
If MTNL offers 20-25 GB per at Rs 499 then this will create a lot of load on MTNL infrastructure because everyone will start to use this plans. If you consider unlimited GB plan ( which is withdrawn ),their are only few users using it. Even though the plan was offering unlimited data, it did not created lot of load on MTNL infrastructure. And still many people thinks that MTNL’s coverage is bad hence their must be a few users for this unlimted plan and may be this was the reason that they have withdrawn this plans. and introduced this new plans.
SANJAY SINHA October 11, 2011 at 4:54 pm
SHOCKING NEWS! WHY IS MTNL RESORTING TO SUCH EXTREME MEASURES? FIRST IT GIVES UNLIMITED (WITH 200GB CAP) FOR RS.750/MONTH (RS.4500/6MONTHS) THEN WITHDRAWS IT, NOW OFFERING PALTRY DOWNLOADS OF JUST 3GB FOR RS.650/MONTH!
I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT 200GB/MONTH IS TOO HIGH AND MANY PEOPLE ABUSE IT. INSTEAD IT SHOULD HAVE OFFERED 20-25GB FOR RS.499/MONTH. THIS WOULD BALANCE THE NEEDS OF CONSUMERS AND PROFITABILITY OF MTNL. AND EVERYONE WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY! PITY THAT MTNL DOES NOT HAVE RIGHT THINKING PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE INTELLIGENT AND PRAGMATIC.
Ankur Mhatre October 11, 2011 at 4:52 pm
Wow ! Again a good move by MTNL. Looking for similar plans from MTNL Mumbai. 200 MB in Rs 99 good thats 50 paise per MB at 3G speed. Nothing can be better than this.
PD October 11, 2011 at 4:10 pm
All the service providers are now a days busy in rationalization hence -
Definitions of rationalization: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/rationalization.html
1. Corporate: Selling off or closing down some plants or units to reorganize a firm’s operations to be more in line with its core competencies, in the interest of efficiency, or as a cost cutting measure. Often used as a euphemism for firing employees. See also downsizing.
2. Psychological: Attribution of reasonableness or socially acceptable motives to an action, behavior, or decision with plausible explanations, while hiding (or being unconscious of) the true motives. See also defense mechanism.
