I have availed MTNL DSL_Unlimited_Combo_495 in the month of oct’2011. However I have received Bill in the month of Nov’2011 and Dec’2011. In Dec’2011 bill I surprised to see that Monthly modem charge of Rs. 46.67 is charged i.e. Monthly CPE service charges is not supposed to charge as per DSL UMLIMITED COMBO SCHEME.

My MTNL Telephone No. is 28484977 and Mobile No. is 9920617095. I request you to please look into the matter and correct my Dec’2011 Bill and discontinue to charge the Monthly CPE Modem charges.

    Thanking you,

It is adviceable to chech the link ” register.bol.net.in ” for MTNL Delhi and “register.mtnl.net.in” for MTNL Mumbai and enter ur username n password and know which is ur current plan that is the only way to get confirmation otherwise waste of time to ask their customer care.

MTNL is beter in both speed and Cost..
    BSNL Unlimited Plan :
    Cost:- 750/- Per month
    Speed:- 256Kbps = 256/8 KBps= 32 KBps…

so it means mtnl is giving better speed (320 Kbps = 320/8 KBps = 40 KBps) at less cost (495/- per month)…

mtnl has nice plans but my friend using 512kbps unlimited plan firstly it was rs.749 plan now it is of Rs.599/mnth he was getting just 35 to 40 kbps download speed. now he converted to rs.999 unlimited plan which has 1mbps speed in plan but actual getting 70 to 80kbps download speed. In terms of Bsnl it is costlier but has great speed than Mtnl.. so it is proven cheaper rates gives cheap services.
in terms of mobile also reliance has cheaper rates but service is also vey low.. but vodafone is costlier but has great service..

Clear your basic about speed here:

Well Im using MTNL Broadband from last many years and getting True Speed as my plan and with always ON problem free connectivity. So its not correct that MTNL Broadband speed is lower as they claim.

Some time people will not understand how to check the speed so they react in wrong way-
    512 kbps means 512 kilo bit per sec.. 1 Byte = 8 bit.. 1 KBps=8 Kbps.. differentiated by whether b is capital(B) or small(b).. so 40 KBps=320 Kbps any how less than 512.. and 80 KBps=620 Kbps..

If you provide, details of your friends Number who didn’t getting speed as his Tariff Plan,I will forward to MTNL People and I assure you they will check or test the speed if any problem from MTNL side it will be rectified.

512 kbps means 512 kilo bit per sec.. From what you are saying, i infer that it is the download speed you usually see while downloading in a download window which is kBps(Kilo Byte per sec..) 1 Byte = 8 bit.. 1 KBps=8 Kbps.. differentiated by whether b is capital(B) or small(b).. so 40 KBps=320 Kbps any how less than 512.. and 80 KBps=620 Kbps..
