@Sanjay Bafna there is no news of this roam -free rates within maha in the mtnl site. but if its true, then its a good move.
Sanjay Bafna January 29, 2010 at 8:16 pm
@Abhijit, No Its not merger of circles,This is Roam Free arrangement, which comes because all the new operator and some private operator treat all calls between Mumbai-Maharashtra-Mumbai as local but MTNL and BSNL not because BSNL not in Mumbai and MTNL not in RO Maharashtra circle. But now they join hands to provide cheapest connectivity through out Maharashtra including Mumbai. So from 1 Feb MTNL user can make calls to Rest of Maharashtra’s Landline and Mobile as Local and BSNL user can enjoy the same to call Mumbai N/W (Landline/Mobile). Presently MTNL and BSNL user get free incoming call facility while roam in Maharashtra-Mumbai but outgoing charges will count as Roaming but after implantations of this O/G calls will be as local.

you have some misunderstanding.. BSNL-MTNL merger means not both company is one.. I m telling BSNL & MTNL will treat Maharashtra as one circle from 1st February 2010. That means Tariff plans provided by MTNL will be applicable in Maharashtra BSNL network also.. In MTNL, user will get home Mumabi tariffs as per their plan while in Maharashtra BSNL network.. So no roaming charges throughout Maharashtra from now.. Same with BSNL Maharashtra also whatever tariffs or scheme they provide to users will be applicable from Mumbai MTNL network also.. that means same home network tariffs or scheme for Maharashtra Bsnl user while in Mumbai Mtnl network. that means both MTNL-BSNL will treat as whole MAHrashtra as one circle so no roaming ..
If you know Marathi then read the article of today’s Maharashtra times Marathi news paper & Loksatta paper

@Sanjay Bafna.Give the news of MTNL & BSNL merger.. Now Mumbai & Maharashtra is one circle.. All the scheme of MTNL Mumbai can be enjoyed beyond Mumbai from 1 February 2010 in Maharashtra Bsnl network also that means all call rates scheme sms scheme will be same from Maharashtra Bsnl network.. Same from Maharashtra Bsnl also . All scheme can be accessible while in Mumbai MTNL network aso … So now cheers to all MTNL, BSNL users. Now no two circles only one circle.. JAI MAHARASHTRA……..

1.For Unlimited Broadband MTNL is the best options.MTNL’s Fully Unlimited Plan (24×7) cost Rs.599 check it here http://telecomtalk.info/mtnl-unlimited-broadband-now-at-just-rs-599/13719/
2.MTNL also providing FREE Uploads on all limited plans/Combo Plans,If we see average use of Broadband than customer use 35% for Uploads and 65% for downloads so MTNL is the cheapest in Combo and Limited plans also. MTNL also has many combo plans as customers need which starts from just Rs.249.
3.At MTNL the Broadband Entry cost is also lowest in India, Just Rs.49 with free upload and 200MB free downloads check here http://telecomtalk.info/mtnl-launches-indias-most-affordable-broadband-plan-at-rs-49/17203/

Abhijit January 29, 2010 at 8:10 am
Bsnl has more great plans for broadband than MTNL.. Mtnl has only one plan which has night unlimited with too high rental rs.849/month.. But bsnl gives unlimited night access plan from Rs.500/month and for further plans also… and if you see above plan of mtnl that also very costly if we compare with bsnl combo plan.. Bsnl combo plan has rs.299/month rental with 1GB free download and upload.. So BSNL is best for all over india. I wish if BSNL was in Mumbai also as I would get cheaper Broadband plans than MTNL here…
