MTNL 3G Bonanza – FREE HSDPA Upgrade For All

Continuing its leverage of bringing best and affordable Mobile services, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced that it has upgraded its all 3G/UMTS subscribers to 3.5G HSDPA (3.6 Mbps) network and increased the 3G Data Downloading Speeds at no extra cost in Mumbai circle.

Now MTNL’s 3G Mobile and Data subscribers will get 3G Data download speed up to 3.6 Mbps by default, without paying any extra charges for the HSDPA services. Earlier MTNL charges Rs.449 for 3.5G / HSDPA service in Mumbai circle.

    BK :
I get a flat 256 kbps on my Android smart phone on bsnl network whether I do a 2g or 3g recharge. The handset shows I am connected to hspa. I called cc but they have no idea why speed doesnot go beyond 256 kbps. Emails to bsnl cc were never answered. I have a 3g usim, activated 3g plan, rexharged with 3g pack and have a wildfire s.

PLEASE MAIL YOUR COMPLAINT TO THE FOLLOWING EMAIL IDS:

    TO: cmdbsnl@bsnl.co.in, cgm_tn@bsnl.co.in, pg_tn@bsnl.co.in, pg_impcs@bsnl.co.in

I assure your complaint will be addressed immediately.

Hahaha! This is a joke almost all operators have HSPA (i.e., HSDPA). Using 3G data, one can expect only 386 kbps MAX. If greater speed is required, HSPA is the way (2.4Mbps/3.6Mbps).

As for BSNL HSPA all connections are traffic shaped. i.e., it doesn’t matter if u have 2.4/3.6/7.2 Mbps modem/device, we’ll only get “broadband” speed of 256kbps.

Ya You are Somewhat Right. BSNL Is Having Little Bit Poor Coverage in Some States and They are Deploying The Towers to Give a Total Coverage. Especially You Will Get BSNL Signals in Forests of Karnataka State and Even in Remote Areas Too.

in every aspect bsnl and mtnl are the best than any other private operator…private operators popular in cheating customers always deducting balance for unknown services …bsnl is the only operator which is cheap as well as wide network coverage…

If anybody frm mtnl recharge with the gprs plan 12 or 98 then wht they can get the speed it wil 3g or edge?
As information received from mtnl official that they already waived off activation charges of 3g/HSDPA. so i think its not a latest news for us

    Mean Mtnl Slower than Bsnl
    Bsnl default 3.5Mbps
    Now Its Being Ready 14.4Mbps
I checked With Vodafone K4505(28Mbps) max 1500kB/s Speed on Bsnl 3G
Which is Slower Than Reliance 3G ( 2000kB/s ) but enough..
