Mobile Phone Maker Micromax today announced an exclusive partnership with Israeli based company Modu Limited to launch co-branded modu T 3G Mobile Mobile phone in Indian market.
The 3.5G modu T was awarded the Guinness World Record for being the lightest touch phone in the world.
Priced at Rs 12,500 modu T has a 2.2” touch screen and memory card slot for external memory card with capability up to 32GB. The phone also features web access, Instant Messaging, direct links to different social networks, a built in FM radio, GPS, music player.
“modu” is a modular phone, which operates on Qualcomm’s Brew operating system and offers applications such as YouTube, Google Search, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, TuneWiki, eBuddy, Snaptu etc.
The Micromax modu T comes with two “fy” devices, jackets, which when connected, add new features to the phone. The “camerafy” jacket converts the phone into a camera with a 5 mega pixel cam and LED flash. Alternatively, you can also “sportfy” your modu T phone and turn it into your exercise companion.The handset will be available in the market from Oct 22.
Mr Vikas Jain, business director, Micromax said “We are excited to work with modu, and bring this unique phone to the Indian audience with the Micromax touch. The modu T phone, co-branded and customized with Micromax gives consumer this modular mobile experience. He further adds, “The ‘fy’ devices provide an enhanced ecosystem, with multiple new functions added to the phone to enable users the freedom to choose, to change and to express themselves. Initially we will provide 2 ‘fy’ devices that make the phone multi functional and we are working with modu to introduce more ‘fy’ devices in the near future.
Dov Moran, CEO and founder of modu, said, “We are quite fortunate to be launching in a dynamic market such as India with Micromax and with what we believe is a break-through product as the modu T. It is an opportunity for both companies.”

fy experience? This is bull! The camera phones popular because, you don’t need to carry your digicam to take pictures on the spot. But this so called device, removes that facility and advertises it as a feature!! Crap!
