MediaTek Launches World’s First LTE Octa-Core Smartphone Chipset MT6595 with Cortex A17 Processor Support

mediatek_mt6595_octacoreTaiwan based leading fabless semiconductor company MediaTek, mostly known for affordable chipsets, has announced the launch of world's first 4G LTE octa core smartphone SoC - MT6595 with ARM Cortex 17 and Ultra HD H.265 codec support. The SoC will hit the market commercially by first half of 2014 and devices are expected in seconnd half of 2014.

The MT6595 employs ARM’s big.LITTLE™ architecture with MediaTek’s CorePilot™ technology to deliver a Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) platform that unlocks the full power of all eight cores. An advanced scheduler algorithm with adaptive thermal and interactive power management delivers superior multi-tasking performance and excellent sustained performance-per-watt for a premium mobile experience.
