Indian Mobile Phone maker Lemon Mobiles today announced to bring in affordable 3G enabled handsets to the Indian masses.
The Lemon 3G enabled handset will be in the markets by November 2010 following which the company has plans to launch the Android phone.The phone will be named as the W100 3G phone and will be available in the price bracket of Rs 3500.
While mainstream consumers now are obsessed with the mega pixels available on the camera, built-in memory, FM radio etc, launch of 3G services by will rope in a new host of buzzwords like ‘Dual camera’, Live Mobile TV and 3G Video calling to the common man’s mobile.
Gopal Kalra, Director, Fastrack Communications (Lemon Mobiles) said, “Our aim has always been to provide feature rich offerings to our customers. 3G launch is expected to create a new market segment. By bringing in 3G handsets we would provide our customers with a ubiquitous access to a host of entertainment and enterprise applications.”

This type of mobile will be good for people who are not internet savvy or those who are not planning to use internet on/through mobile. They will get the most interesting feature of 3G – Video Calling and that too at much lower price.
I think the big players should take a clue from Lemon. Big players are skipping Video calling feature even in their high end 3G mobiles.

all these dual sim mobiles like micromax, karbon, lemon , gfive.. etc are great in features and very very low in quality. All of them are dumped from china and labelled. IT IS BETTER TO BUY BRANDED LIKE NOKIA. Nokia has launched 3g mobile model no 2700 classic for 4200/-.
santu October 29, 2010 at 11:52 am
Absurd……..it must be android 1.6
Keshav Jha October 29, 2010 at 10:40 am

anandh October 29, 2010 at 9:18 am

@karann
bro i think speed of a phone depends on the capacity of processor used
mahesh October 28, 2010 at 11:28 pm
WOW! This is exactly what common man of India (an average user/majority of indians – non tech savy and non rich) needs (features and price wise) to use the benefit of 3G. Congrats Lemon Mobiles!
Hope other like micromax, samsung, LG etc are not sleeping and listening? Nokia will comes up with similar kind of affordable 3G phones only after few years (when it has also lost market share in 3G handsets also and is under pressure)!!!
karann October 28, 2010 at 11:07 pm
@Raghu
sahi kaha sarkar
karann October 28, 2010 at 11:06 pm
@TD
T.D are you mad? android phone ka toh abhi plan ban raha hai, yeh price range toh 3g phones ke liye hai, pehle information read karo phir koi comment karna. Android ek operating software hai jiske dwara user interface bahut fast ho jata hai
karann October 28, 2010 at 11:04 pm
@Chakshul
i thing wcdma phone will be of 3500 and hspda phone might be costlier…
So nowadays strategy is to make 3g models instead of camera pixels phones, kyunki agar sasti cheez chahiye toh kuch purane features hatakar naye feature dalne mein kya burayi hai, mere bhai
TD October 28, 2010 at 10:54 pm
android in this price range!!!! lets see….
Raghu October 28, 2010 at 10:43 pm

Chakshul October 28, 2010 at 9:39 pm

Webly October 28, 2010 at 9:14 pm
