Last Thursday when Mukesh Ambani, MD - RIL announced commercial launch from 5th Sept, he said existing customers would be migrated to Jio Welcome Offer. Though the migration procedure was set to happen in several phases when existing users would exhaust their 90 days true unlimited free offerings. But, from today the company through their newly updated My Jio app, started migrating all existing customers to Jio Welcome Offer, even those who had got their Jio SIM under LYF Preview offer.

Unlike Jio Preview Offer, the new Welcome Offer comes with a 4GB high speed data per day limit, so existing customers wouldn't be able to get true unlimited data on Jio's fast 4G network like before. However, if anyone crosses the data limit, he/she can enjoy unlimited data at much lower speed of 128 Kbps. While, other benefits will remain same in Jio Welcome Offer and existing users can enjoy true unlimited voice calls to any network, SMS (100/day) and free access to Jio premium apps like JioTV, JioCinema, Jio Music etc.

Also, for those who want to get new Jio SIM, the company is now generating offer barcodes through My Jio app on every 4G mobile, so that interested people can get a Jio SIM without much hassle. Though the data cap will make some users unhappy, the latest move will help the operator to maintain QoS of their data network which is already getting 250 crore GB data usages each month, at an average 50 GB per user.

Dear readers, if you're enjoying Jio Preview Offer, let us know through your comments if the data cap would impact your usage pattern.
