Really good news that MTNL done the best business in last month, I think only because of MTNL employees efforts they grab lots of subscribers. Mumbai ED offered a Customer Connect program in which all the exchange employees work very hard & they made a history that MTNL is still best. Public responded well for Rs 91 SIM & unlimited 3G data usage plan. MTNL Hai toh Sahi hai.

following are the operators arranged in their order of quality of service in Chennai :
    1. Rel CDMA
    2. Aircel
    3. Airtel
    4. Tata Docomo
    5. Reliance GSM
THE COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE OPERATORS IS THAT MOST OF DON’T OFFER LANGUAGE SELECTION OPTION DURING CUSTOMER CARE CALLS. FED UP OF TAMIL ONLY RESPONSE. RELIANCE IS THE WORST IN THIS MATTER !

Yes.. Very true… Aircel’s Internet speed in Bangalore was AMAZING.. I’m from chennai & when I compare the internet speed of Aircel Bangalore, speed in Chennai is pathetic… Aircel must do something to improve speed in Chennai & RoTN..
The only problem there was coverage, still even with 1 or 2 points of signal, speed was better than taht I get in Chennai with Full coverage !!!

The actual fact is that the TSPs are showing an inflated figure. The multiple sim cards (Many sim cards on the same name ) are the actual villain. In a study it is found that each tsps are giving multiple sim cards of the order of more than 100 per one POI and Photo. TERM Cells are not strong . They are simply allowing this malpractice to be florished.

While analyzing the Aircel’s data for March-2012, I came across a surprising fact that company lost 2.03 million subscribers in southern regions where it has the strong foothold. The worst seen in Chennai where Aircel lost about 7 lakh subscibers. Addition of around 1.4 million among other parts of India mainly northern circles like Haryana, Punjab, UP(E), UP(W), Rajastan came as a savior, where they (Aircel) do not have 30% of their own network coverage and using Tata Docomo’s network.

I will not be surprised if Aircel lose the number game to Uninor in coming months. I haven’t seen much happenings in last few months from Aircel’s end. Expansion plans on hold, company facing fund problems, exodus of top officials, Aircel-Maxis deal issues, all these things indicating to something which is more worst than one can think of.

Aircel do hold 3G license for 13 circles but I can’t find any seriousness regarding 3G network expansion by the company. There are not much talk about Aircel 3G among customers. Maybe it’s unavailability can be the reason for that.

When We will get Actual Figures of The “Active Subscribers”…TRAI must take Strict measures for Such things going on
I have 3 simcards out of which I use Docomo Sim,I have stop using Airtel Due To the “Balance Deduction issue” and reliance Gsm Due to Network issue,So,Now i will be counted as 3 Subscribers But Active Sim Card is Only One……Also There are various street vendors of SIM Cards…Selling sim card with short term benefit
E.g Airtel New sim For RS 75 with RS.75 TT.Daily 100SMS,1GB Data free For 1 Month…… Any many other

The 2.5mn subscriber addition to Airtel’s kitty is fake like ever before. Most of the people buy Airtel because of freebies they offer, like till March 31 before TRAI direction came into effect, they were offering Rs.150 as commision to the retailers and Rs.70-110 was offered to new customers paying Rs.10-30 for new sim.

I had bought one for Rs.10 and got 70 as talktime and 500MB 2G data for 3 months. I still have 45 balance and haven’t recharged it yet and will not as Airtel’s QoS is so worst in Haryana. SIM was taken for checking internet speed. There are so many users who buy new SIM, use the freebies and then buy again.

In my town, people are now shifting focus to Aircel as they are offering 9000 sec(150 mins) of local+national calling, 3GB of pocket internet free for 3 months, 300 SMS for 90 days and calling @1p/2s for 90 days at a cost of Rs.60 only. Airtel has stopped offering freebies now and SIM is also costing Rs.70 now with Rs.90 benefits.

Haryana added 401,238 subscribers in total in March 2012 and out of this Idea alone added 207,271 which accounts for 51.65%. This figure can be true as Idea is offering new SIM for Rs.100 in Haryana with Rs.110 as benefits. People are taking it even if it is costly and mainly because of its best network(900MHz) and coverage and plan are also not much expensive. So Idea is a clear winner in Haryana.

Vodafone which is at No.1 in Haryana added 82,759 and No.5 operator Airtel added 83,962 customers.

Aircel and Videocon added 12,419 and 1,962 respectively. Videocon total customer base in Haryana is now 925,500.
