India’s leading Mobile Service operator Idea Cellular has added a total of 2.45 million GSM subscribers which is the highest number of new mobile subscriber additions in the month of April 2011. Idea Cellular’s GSM subscriber base now reached 91.9 million, as per the COAI data.
Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) today released the GSM subscriber base for April 2011 and, quite expectantly, new additions continue at an average growth rate. The total 11.1 million new GSM subscribers being added in April’2011 at a monthly growth rate of 1.95% taking the all-India GSM cellular subscriber base to 580.65 million.
Among the GSM Mobile Service Operators, Vodafone Essar added added 2.40 million new customers, boosting its subscrinber base 136.9 million. Bharti Airtel notched up 2.41 million new subscribers during the month, taking its total base to 164.6 million. While India’s national telecom backbone and Pan India 3G Mobile service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) added up 0.68 million new users in March-2011, taking its total subscriber base to 87.1 million.
Aircel increased its base by over 1.1 million customers to take its subscriber base to 55.9 million. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) added 14633 new users during the month, boosting its total base to 5.23 million at the end of April, 2011.
Uninor, one of the youngest GSM operators in India has added 1.51mn GSM subscriber while Videocon added 1, 34,399 subscribers and STel managed just 1,80,794 new subscribers from 5 circles. Etisalat DB/Cheers Mobile 2,37,026 added subscribers in 13 circles.

Go to Vodafone Service Menu -> Flash -> Activation -> Deactivate. It will deactivate flash messages and also register in DND. Anyways all have looted in some or other way. For you Vodafone looted but for others it can be Airtel or Idea. TRAI should be blamed. TRAI needs to bring some new policies for VAS activation like to give in writing to the company or to bring special recharges to activate VAS.

Here is an example of best service of your “best company VODAFONE”.I had a Vodafone SIM since 2006. On 03/05/2009 I recharged it with a Rs 249/ validity voucher for 2 years validity with my vodafone number 9874572043. The validity of my SIM was til 02/05/2011.During the month of March 2011 I have been astonished to see that SIM has been deactivated (inactive SIM).I then & Then starts lodging complain to their nodal officer through email by quoting my transaction ID number which was fortunately saved by me with the SIM card & repeatedly visited their Chandannagar main office to resolve the issue.The nodal office finally allot me a different SIM card & a different mobile number( that number already recycled & issued to somebody in Barasat-Kolkata.On 25th April 2011 their Chandannagar office finally handed over to me the new SIM & new number 9874574443.Then the real trouble starts for me.The SIM card was activated within 2 hours But all incoming & outgoing calls were block & block & block.Again I started sending complaints through email to nodal officer & visits Chandannagar Vodafone office on a regular basis & they assured me “wait it will work”.Interestingly I watched that blocked remains as it is & more interestingly one by one VAS is automatically activating on my SIM which is day by day eating my balance & ultimately it came down as low as -1 ,but line is block & block til 24th May 2011.The final validity of SIM card was 25th MAY before deactivation.On 25th night I have been Astonished to see that line is open incoming call coming,o/g not possible due to -balance.Then I quickly recharged it through web with a validity of Rs 249/- for 2 years again. On next day I found again some VAS activated on that number.I cancel it. I then recharge a bonus card Rs 34/- on that number to reduce call charge.very next day I found again my line is block all incoming & outgoing call barred +one VAS activated.Then I become fired & called nodal officer over phone & tell her that I have no way to go to consumer redressal forum + lodge a complaint to TRAI & minsitry of telecom.They told me your line will be become operational within 2 hrs & it works again but with again a VAS activation ,I again cancel it.Next day again VAS activated & again I cancel it. Balance is again reducing.On today I found again VAS activate & balance down to Rs 1.57.Then I called CC at 11am & told them the problem.They says due to FLASH & due to NOKIA set you are suffering.They send me a sms link to cancel flash to 111.I send it, system says it will deactivate within 4 hrs. Again I send the same sms on evening,system again send me same reply.I am tired.THIS THE BEST SERVICE OF YOUR BEST COMPANY VODAFONE.USING MOBILE SINCE 2003 BUT MY AIRTEL NEVER BEHAVE WITH ME LIKE THIS.

Since i am using idea for more than 14 years the stuff in Margao they need more training and they must be more helpful where as you go to vodafone office or airtel the staff is very polite and helpful seems to be they are trained well, i was really upset because staff working in margao they don’t even have knowledge anything they didn’t even know that 3G network was getting in Margao ..honestly i don’t want to complain but staff in margao should be trained and should be polite .

Well in Gujarat Uninor’s network sucks.. be its network strength or voice clarity.. I get lot of disturbance at home i need to go to my balcony to talk and the place where i work there is no network at all. I had to throw the sim within a week… All the time my screen used to flash 5% to 20% call discount. I never got 60% discount. Only Vodafone, Idea and BSNL are good here. Vodafone, Idea in cities and BSNL right on the money when roaming (better than vodafone and Idea while roaming). Airtel is ok.

Well Uninor is Attracting Customers Because Of It’s Network Quality, By Viewing Uninor and Idea’s Network Quality All Operators Of Karnataka I.E. AirTel, Vodafone, Aircel,RGSM,BSNL, TATA DOCOMO Have To Improve Their Network Quality and Reliance Had Improved It’s Network By Deducting Money From Customers. RGSM network improve very much after starting 3G service. Now they have good voice quality, less call drop. U can also watch mobile tv while on move in bus or train. Data speed is good but at night. I m using it. U can purchase.

Because reliance and tata are not the members of COAI. they are members of AUSPI. soon uninor also jumps out from COAI as COAI is biased towards old operators. now RGSM,DOCOMO & UNINOR have joined their hands against INTERCONNECT charges which old operaters like airtel idea vodafone doesn want TRAI to remove it or reduce it. currently eg: if uninor customer calls to airtel customer then uninor has to pay 20p/m to airtel. old operators are getting max money frm this!!!

idea had covered many small towns, tourist destinations and school and college areas… idea is having the largest 3g coverage in kerala as off nw… comparing to bsnl which started in 2009 i dont know which is the largest… but no much difference between the two… idea hadnt concentrated mainly on launching at main cities…

Uninor’s coverage is improving only in city limits. Uninor is moving in gadual manner ie first improving distribution network, customer satisfaction, reduction in costs etc. It true that uninor will invest 15000 crores within next 3 years for its operations. Now they are planning to go for arbitration starting with singapore.

in kerala’s scenario… ideas voice clarity is not much good compared to other operators… we can say it is only an average… but comparing to coverage and gprs quality it is one of the best in kerala… even there 3g service is good… download speed varies between 120kB/s- 190kB/s… they had marketed their idea netsetter well in kerala…
as a whole idea is the best service provider in kerala..

I have been using BSNL GSM prepaid (2G)since Dec. 2009 and haven’t had any issues with the network thus far. I frequently visit Cochin, Coimbatore and Chennai and have never had any problems with voice calls and GPRS connections. Just thought of sharing my experience.

That’s Not All Aircel Lags in Quality and Coverage, The Aircel People are So Much Idiotic Such That They Boast Their 3G Network Can Improve Their Voice Quality. Their Servers are Not Well Maintained Such That You Will Find Voice Cracking in Most Of The Circles. Even Their Network is Not as Stabilized as Uninor, Whereas Uninor/Idea are Having Better Quality in Voice, Network and Data Such That It Can Be Acceptable. So Aircel Needs To Improve Quality and Coverage. aircel has worst gprs speed i m using aircel first time and my experience is really very and its customer care is not working at all in day time even after waiting for 15min it doesnt work (for pocket internet problem)and i have to complaint for tha at ngt 2 a.m and for that also waiting for more then 5 min docomo customer care is best among whom i have used
