Idea Follows Airtel, Tariff Hike in Kerala

Idea Follows Airtel Tariff Hike in KeralaSoon after Airtel hiked its prepaid tariff Idea Cellular has also following its foot steps has hiked its prepaid tariff in the state of Kerala.

It seems all the biggies in the business are going to follow the foot steps of Airtel, the biggest conglomerate in this game. The recent hike has been supported by the others to maintain and prosper in the revenue generation.

The operators often complain that there has been inflation in price of everything in every aspect but mobile tariff has fallen drastically over this period. On the contrary the maintenance cost has gone up by folds. So thats why such a bold move.

Idea Cellular has now restructured their prepaid tariff, an example of which has been given here

Now under per sec tariff a flat I2I calls will be effective at 1.2p/s from previously 1p/s and to others it will cost 1.5p/s from 1.2p/s.

can u pl let me know what are the topups? will we not get a SIM with lifetime validity just like pvt operators give.also i am facing network problem and not able to get signals properly inside the house.

That is the problem friend MTS is best in Tariff &validity – Local only. MTS charges are high in roaming. While BSNL have best coverage.

Docomo – Docomo offers best advertisements and creative persons can use docomo

Vodafone – Those who cant afford a pug, can use Vodafone

Idea – Those who have No idea, can use Idea.

Airtel – Those whose Father has made big money or born Rich can use Airtel

Uninor – Those who are good in Maths can use Uninor

Aircel – All Dhoni Fans with a pocket, use Aircel

BSNL – All those who travel a lot can take BSNL. Their Customer Care is very efficient like a Government department.

MTS – All those who are not born rich can use MTS. But Knowledge of MTS tower locations is a must.

Best Option seems having BSNL+MTS connection. In dual sim CDMA+GSM-waiting for new good models. Now Samsung Duos W259 costing Rs.5500 seems best in available.

Ok you itself accepting all drawbacks of mts . . Then whats use of validity untill 2028 of mts mobile without coverage ? Is it used for playing java games in it for 599 till 2028? Lol . .

Ha ha ha Thanks friend. You are right. Actually I posted earlier also, what use for free minutes if poor coverage &call drops. But they keep saying they will improve. So waiting if they fulfill their promise.

When I said call charges too low. May be that is why they don’t have money to put more towers. But heard Russia gov: giving big money. But mainly now they are interested now in internet only.

What to do?. Continues somehow with frequent call drops & sometimes non-coverage too. Other times we have to go to the area were signal is more strong. I have a rough idea on area of the location of their tower near us. So somehow can mange. Because when u gets into strong network areas they are the BEST in tariff.

Just was stating all facts. No passing any judgment on which network is best. As I said earlier if in kerala wait for improvement of mts network in case of voice.

But does BSNL offer 1p/sec and 49p/min together?
MTS is charging me 30p/min. and second billing if same call is short. So lesser amount will be charged.
    Example 60sec=30p, 10sec=10p

But as i said earlier quality of network and coverage bad now. Don’t know how even in earlier better reception places now quality became so low.

I can’t comment much on Tamilnadu. But in kerala it is getting very bad. Hearing the excuse of no money for towers many times.
Even CC earlier we get in first dial has to go through so many procedures to connect.

So every prospective new user in Kerala should first check if connection improved before taking MTS

Now there is no need of recharging for validity increase in bsnl… Validity automatically increases with every top-up… Even with 10rs recharge…

If this news true, it is good still no use for me as I have balance already. But if compared to validity voucher it is better, I welcome it.
What is the condition in case of topups, for 10rs will they give 1year validity. MTS by default gives me validity till 2028
Also for 49p tariff validity is it one time charge?

But kerala BSNL is not like other circle BSNL.

Me too have my earlier bsnl kerala connection keeping on recharging with validity vouchers as I have huge balance, in hope someday bsnl will drop tariffs.

MTS is cdma have its limitations. But they offer good set for 500rs including connection, andd it s battery life is better than even my Samsung which costed 6000 in my experience.
BUT mts number can be ported to other operators. So can’t be said permanent in all sense. My Samsung cdma phone is open handset so can put tata&reliance cdma sims too.

This news is not only bad for ides customer. As I already explain about the reasons of increasing prices in airtel. Now again I am posting because people have to understand the real fact, many people is talking about new comers like DOCOMO, uninor etc. After reading my small article people can understand that though the new comers gives us low call rates now but in future they are also run in the same way otherwise now a days like MTS,quality will decrease day by day. Increasing subscriber base, innovative technologies and high competition over the years have put lots of pressure on the telecom infrastructure structure. People who think this move is only taken by airtel or idea, their thinking is really wrong .now we have to wait for other companies. Though, there is lots of reason –

    1. Shortage of electric power: The availability of electricity for telecom towers has always been a concern as the rural regions of the country faces regular and long power cuts. The electricity and diesel constitutes the huge proportion of network operating expenses in rural areas and hence remains a major concern for the future.

    2. Rising fuel cost: Fuel has been a major contributor to the network operating expenses. With the crisis in some oil producing nations such as in North African countries, Japan earthquake and the increased oil demand by BRIC countries led to an increase in the price of fuel. Thus, oil price rise have put all the operators under tremendous pressure to maintain their margins.

    3. High set-up cost in rural areas: CAPEX of putting up a tower in a rural area is around 1.5 to 4 times cost of an average urban site, whilst the OPEX is around 1.4 to 3 times more.

    4. Licensing Fees: TRAI has proposed for a Licensing Fee of 4% p.a for the telecom tower sector in FY11, which would be increased further to 6% inFY12 and beyond. This would adversely impact the margins of players and, hence, may reduce competition and increase the call tariffs in result.

These are the only major causes, but there are lots of reasons for hiking call tariffs. Let’s see what happened with the whole telecom industry.

This is why all should go for Lifetime tariffs. My Mts tariff is for lifetime 30p local,49p STD.Also for short calls second billing.

But their network connectivity has turned so poor lately. No money for new towers or increasing height. So I think top operators are charging for quality

off net call charges that is termination charges are fixed by TRAI @20p (upper limit)

I agree to what someone said above. There are many people in Kerala they don’t know how much is their call charge, how can them reduce it. They are majority in Idea. They simply do top and call….they are busy in life to know these things! Many already moved from Idea now in Kerala.

MNP ka koi effect nahi hoga iss par because bahut jald sabhi operator apna call rate increase karenge, airtel ne suru kiya.
TELECOM SECTOR ”bhed chal” jaisa hai,ek suru karta hai aur baki log follow karte hai.

1.2 paise se kuch nahi hoga, sabhi operators ko base tariff karna chaiye either 2p/sec or 60p/min, then it will be the wisest move, i will see what people will prefer.. then all the operators will not be effected in revenues as airtel is going very badly in revenues.

Almost (1.5p/se) 90paise/min??? tariff should not be hiked this much, infact Airtel is quite cheap as they are charging 1.2p/m.
