With the roll out of ‘Switch to Idea’ campaign, IDEA Cellular, the pan-India mobile operator, has affirmed that it is ready to enable Mobile Number Portability (MNP) on its network.
Post the announcement of MNP launch on November 25th from Haryana circle, by the Government, Idea has taken the lead to make mobile consumers aware of the upcoming mobile portability service, through its latest campaign.
The new advertisement from Idea which broke on TV recently, shows Idea’s Brand Ambassador, Abhishek Bachchan proposing a new idea to unhappy mobile users to switch to a network that offers better services, better products & tariffs, and better network, through the message – ‘No Idea, Get Idea’.
The new campaign gives a direct message to mobile consumers to ‘Switch to Idea’ as it highlights Idea’s service superiority over others. The series of four ads highlight Idea’s strong Network connectivity even inside lifts and buildings; Customized tariff plans to ensure affordable mobile communication; Transparent balance notification; Accessible and Humane customer care where one doesn’t need to wait for long to talk to an agent – each echoing the plight of mobile consumers and urging them to Switch to Idea.
According to Mr. Rajat Mukarji, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, IDEA Cellular, “Idea is ready to enable Mobile Number Portability on its network. We have made substantial investment in network, technology, processes etc. to allow mobile subscribers to switch network and move to Idea, post MNP. Idea has taken the lead in spreading awareness about MNP, amongst mobile consumers across the country”.

Aircel i know they will not have coverage in remote area in most of the places like AP etc. where as Airtel,Vodafone also have coverage in most of the remote areas.

Buddy during my graduation i used to use vodafone with call rates v-v 10p v-o 40p and daily 100free sms. i never faced balance deduction issues with vodafone except once they had charged 44rs instead of 22rs for nite pack but refunded it within 72hrs. It was good but only problem was it had poor indoor coverage and now prob is almost solved. airtel doesnt care for its customers like how other players do. they never listen to customers prob.

Ya and i feel the biggest gainer in karnataka circle will be airtel and vodafone. I will port my Aircel number to Vodafone as it has got superb coverage even to the remotest places and also now they have made 95 gprs pack wit pc connectivity along with cheap tariff.

AS per my friend who works in idea cellular update, last week they had a big meeting itseems and now its has become quite serious and management has assured tat idea will gain customers from MNP. god only knows how much they will work

No dude. If there were any other operators’ tower in your sister’s roof, you would have same problem. If you go to any neighbours house of your sister, you can find full network. The only reason being your signal problem is that you are just under the tower. And this thing happens with any operator. These is not voda’s problem. Their indoor coverage is quite good than the others.

Vodaphone’s BTS tower is on the roof my sister’s home, but inside her home there is very weak signal. So @ARJUN is very correct in saying indoor coverage is low for Voda.

i am not telling not only Karnataka,AP,Maharashtra etc . i am telling on a pan india basis. as far as i know Vodafone is third in AP . their main problem is their internet packs are not that good .

I m a Idea subscriber. Idea has Good networ covergae in all over maharashtra. They r offering mindblowing calling plans in Mumbai. Now they upgraded there gprs setting to make it user friendly.. It is good have Idea..

Idea network is very good in Maharashtra circle. But it is also more expensive, especially for data. If you want both – good network and cheaper tariff, try Uninor. Airtel and Reliance GSM are amongst the worst.

Every time !dea comes out with something weird ! and MNP campaign is one of their inverted (!) ideas. It is not for the customers care of security or for that matter -’change of life’ = but for wooing them in their net. It was their !dea (sic) to charge CUSTOMER CARE calls @50p/3min! which others grabbed as well as garbed. I don’t think others, this time, especially the ‘oldies’ will take it in good spirit ! Anyway if MNP comes in right time well and good !
