IDEA Cellular, the fastest growing Pan India mobile operator today announced the launch “Talk to Auro” and innovative IVR based an groundbreaking value added services for its GSM Mobile subscribers across India which will offer virtual callings with Auro.
The operator tied up with bollywood movie Paa for an activity based on ‘Talk to Auro’ concept, wherein callers can leave messages for Auro on an Idea number and in return receive calls from Auro (one of the characters in the film Paa) on a pre-determined date.
Apart from this IVR based callings, special Ring back tones (Caller Tunes) in Auro’s voice and other value added services too will be available for Idea GSM mobile service users.
Idea subscriber and users of the social networking site, Facebook and Twitter, can send a note to ‘Auro’ from their existing Facebook profile, they can start interacting with Auro on his special IDEA number +919594999222 and give him instructions on how to alter his gait to be fitter. The outgoing Calls from Idea cellulars to Auro’s Idea Mobile Number will be charged as per the subscribers tariff plan. Incoming calls will be diverted to a voice mail box and these will have pre-recorded messages.
Idea cellular also launches the dedicated website www.talktoauro.in which has all “Auro” Mobile contents.

Irrespective of what we, the consumers feel, its a win win situation for both the operator and the producer of the movie. As many of the subscribers simply lap it up, the producer gets publicity for a pittance and the operator counts the moolah !

Good point noted. I was using Idea since last 7-8 years(disconnected from last year). Also using Airtel from last 6 years. I have observed Airtel & other operators gradually slashing call rates to such VAS numbers. Now a days, for most of such services, Airtel/Vodafone charges 3Rs/min or even 1Re/min for few other VAS services. But I suprise to see that Idea still have old VAS call rates from years.

What a Idea Sirjee..New concept of value added services are welcome.. but when Idea is going to break the silence over on going tariff wars by reliance, Tata docomo & Airtel on roaming issue!! And also Sms @ 1ps/sms issue.
