IDEA Cellular Launches 3G Mobile Service In Haryana

India’s 3rd largest GSM Mobile Service operator IDEA Cellular today launched its 3G Mobile and Data services in Haryana Telecom Circle.

With this launch of 3G services, IDEA subscribers in Ambala, Hisar, Rewari, Rohtak, Panipat, Bhiwani, Jhajjar and Hansi of Haryana circle now can enjoy rich multimedia application such as Video conferencing, Idea mall application store, Mobile TV,Video on demand and High speed Mobile Broadband with ease.

The operator said that, Idea’s 3G services will be available in 24 towns by April 2011, and over 230 towns by the end of 2012.

To activate the 3G service, IDEA Mobile subscribers need to send SMS ACT3G to 12345 (toll free) or by dialing *147# (toll free) after sending the SMS the confirmation SMS will come and 2G Data Plan will be de-activated after the confirmation by subscriber 3G Data Plan “Pay As You Go” will be activated.he 3G local, STD and Roaming Video Call cost will be 5 paisa/sec (Rs.3/minute).

Note : Postpaid and Prepaid Recharge Vale/Rent may differ (+/- Rs.5) in some circles.

sir,i m getting 2g speed(15-25kb/sec) in 3g plan.actually i have activated 2g RS.97 plan..but i used its all MB.later i activated a 3g plan but still i am getting 2g speed.why???

Idea recently launched 3G services in our town i.e Naraingarh. No 3G speed on 2G plans. They have capped the speed to 128Kbps. But when I upload, the speed goes to 480Kbps and on an average more than 300Kbps. So it means they providing more upload speed then download. Just check this here http://www.speedtest.net/result/1453860324.png Also I tested the same with Tata Docomo/BSNL in Patiala (Punjab) and they too haven’t capped upload speed to 128Kbps. On BSNL I got 1.5Mbps while on Tata 712Kbps (max.) and 512Kbps average on 2G plans.

This was when I ported in last December, as far as I heard it’s still very poor. Even performance on GPRS or EDGE is very poor. Usually around 2-8KB/s, while on Tata Docomo I found it to be 15-20KBps on EDGE (100% EDGE coverage).

Ok………but kya fark pdta h…Airtel ka gprs ho ya EDGE speed to 2KBps ki aati h……

I ported from Airtel to Tata Docomo. Apart from 3G factor, EDGE on Docomo is way too better then Airtel. Infact in Haryana you will find Airtel has over 70% of area’s still on GPRS and it just doesn’t works!
In terms of Internet usage, Tata Docomo gives best experience, but I am little bit unhappy with call drops, and “beep-beep” connection mode Tata has.

m not agree wid u……Airtel has EDGE n/w at most places of haryana…….

saying 10 town’s/days 3G covrage in progess..but only 8 city’s in list
Ambala, Hisar, Rewari, Rohtak, Panipat, Bhiwani, Jhajjar and Hansi..

What About UP-East in its other city’s… ????
No any 3g (Except bsnl 3G 25dec-2009) in hardoi city
its just 102km from lucknow..
3G Starting is Very Slow & Hihest Rates & Only Main City’s
