IDEA Becomes The Largest 3G Network in UP West and Uttarakhand

Idea Cellular, India’s 3rd largest mobile operator and the largest operator in UP West & Uttarakhand today said that it has now extended its 3G services to cover all major towns in the region.

Idea’s 3G services are now available across 145 towns in UP West & Uttarakhand. Idea’s focus on growth from semi-urban heartlands, comprising of industrial, agricultural and educational regions seem to be working, as the company has experienced huge growth in data traffic in the largely semi-urban market of UP West and Uttarakhand.

Soon after the launch, Idea has now introduced a range of attractive offers, including ‘Double Dhamaka’ to enable mobile users in the region to enter the world of 3G. This new Double Dhamaka offers double data benefit on all the 3G recharge vouchers and packs (prepaid and postpaid) to the customers and is valid till 31st December 2011.

Apart from this, Idea is also offering the lowest entry point pack for users to avail 3G services, starting at just Rs. 7. The 3G trial pack comes with a validity of 1 day and offers 20MB of 3G data usage. For other users, Idea has the widest possible range of plans for prepaid and postpaid subscribers, starting from as low as Rs. 7 going up to Rs. 5,000 pack which offers 30GB of free 3G data usage for upto 125 Days.

Idea has also launched a special 3G tariff plan for postpaid subscribers priced at 5 paise/10KB. Additionally, Idea is also offering the lowest Video calling tariff on 3G at 2 paise/second, for all local and National calls.Idea is also offering special deals on its 3G Netsetters, for both Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers in the circle.

The company has also launched a toll free helpline 53599 to facilitate all 3G related information for users. To know more about Idea’s 3G services, and to check handset compatibility, customers can log onto www.ideacellular.com/3g. To feel the difference personally, mobile users can experience 3G services at special ‘Experience Kiosks’ set up at select Idea stores.

EVERY BODY SHOULD READ THIS HOW TELECOM COMPANY CHEAT US :

I was using both the power recharge RC 28 (local 1p/2secs) and RC 26 (on net 10p/min) simultaneously for the last one and half years, but never faced any problem with it. I recharged with RC 26 on 28th august’ 2011 but the power stopped working from 13th September’2011 and normal local call rates 1p/2secs was charged on On net calling also. When I called cust. care help line @ 198 the executive told me that since I have recharged with RC 28 after recharging with RC 26 the promo RC 26 is not working. Then again I have recharged with RC 26 on 15th September’2011 at 6.30 pm but the promo RC 26 is still not working even after 3 DAYS of recharged. Sir I have to make lots of on net calling from IDEA to IDEA. So, its my request to you Sir kindly try to solve my problem as soon as possible.
I like and love brand-!dea very much and I believe that you understand my problem and will solve it as soon as possible as i am facing a big problem with it and also I believe !dea will not force me to leave !dea and join any other operator through MNP.

m from Hardoi (District Headquarter) UP East its 102km away from Lucknow
but no idea 3G here/2G Network Covrage is Very Poor
So i do’t think “Idea is expanding 3G in semi-urban areas/citys very fast”.
    Using bsnl 3G 3.6mbps from 25dec 2009 & bsnl 3G 14.4mbps super speed from a mth ago.

    BAD iDEA for up east

Yeah it’s true that Idea is expanding 3G in semi-urban areas very fast. We’ve only Idea available here in our town. None of other operator care about launching 3G here. Thanks to Idea.
Also I have seen many users complaining of no way of checking remaining data or minutes. Idea has started this in Haryana 2 months back and I hope this will get implemented in other circles too where people are facing such problems. After every session, we get remaining data by Flash SMS. Also every 2G/3G pack can be activated using USSD (*150#) or by calling to 53535 and it takes 3-5 seconds to get the service activated. When I activated Rs. 46 pack which gives 50 mins of usage(Idea website says 30 mins only), I again got the remaining minutes info. by SMS. Idea speed here 4-6Mbps.

Dial karein 53549 Toll Free aur payein apne pichle din ki GPRS usage ki poori jankari

In Kolkata they don’t have these ussd facility to activate a plan or to check GPRS balance. But ya their 3G speeds are really awesome.

but in my city edge speed of bsnl is really good…it is true that vodafone, rcom and docomo has good speed but not idea and airtel….if we use 98gprs pack on bsnl by selecting umts netk we will get edge speed of 236kbps….it is better to use bsnl than using idea…

For the kind information of all…

    1) Idea does not allow free roaming benefit for GPRS even in their own network.. Initially it was available but at present it is withdrawn..It simply means that if you a resident of somewhere in Maharashtra and go to Mumbai for some work you will be charged for each byte used despite your GPRS pack.. This is not a problem with other operators.

    2) Idea is not having any arrangements to measure your Data Usage which means you will loose whole of your balance without any prior notification after the limit of your Data pack is expired and all this for an exorbitant rate of Rs.5 per MB.

    3) For those who say Idea has a good speed should know that they have capped their EDGE speed to 15kBps after the 3G launch so that customers on 2G are forced to buy their expensive 3G plans..Situation now is that Vodafone is giving best speed on EDGE network among all in my city..(ranging from 18 to 24 kBps)

    4) Still Idea is not having any daily packs for GPRS to be activated through USSD.. Minimum pack costs Rs. 15 which should be purchased from retailers only..this is not enough even the activation of these packs requires unreasonable 3 to 4 hours and sometimes more than that..

    5) And those who say Idea has a good coverage should know that other Telecom giants like Vodafone and Airtel have improved a lot in terms of coverage in Maharashtra and Goa.. I many places I have noticed that Vodafone is present but Idea is not..

    6) And if you are really interested in using 3G then nothing is better than BSNL but the main problem with 3G is that your phone’s battery will never survive for more than 3 to 4 hours in a 3G network which implies that a good EDGE network is still required to be in touch with your emails and social networks.. BSNL has the worst EDGE speed among all therefore no option is left for us except RCOM,Vodafone or DOCOMO

All my experience is based upon usage near Nagpur and Chandrapur in Maharashtra..

I am idea delhi prepaid user and i am enjoying 3G speeds(3-5mbps) with my 98 plan from last 2 months…
    disadvantage of idea:-
gprs packs not valid in roaming for prepaid but valid for postpaid
sms usage cant be checked at tha same time but updated at 12am by calling 53570
mca service does’nt work in night as told by customer care officials
data balance flash after every internet dissconnection which is good
idea network is very good all over delhi & ncr

In some circles or even different areas within circles people are getting 3G speed on 2G plan but here Idea has capped it to 15-17KBps only. In Nahan/Poanta Sahib (Himachal), BSNL is giving 3G speed on 2G plan and no restriction at all. Even in Haryana I found no restriction in Ambala city at some cell sites but on other speed again back to 15KBps but BSNL hasn’t launched 3G in our town. Actually the thing is in Idea you can select 2G network only if you activate 3G by sending SMS “ACT3G” to 12345 but that’s not the case with BSNL. You just select UMTS mode and use your 2G plan. Aircel customers in Haryana also getting 3G speed on 2G plans(capped to 3.6Mbps) on Tata network but Tata users are getting 15KBps only.

When Idea will expand 3G coverage in Maharashtra circle? Still many towns of Thane & Raigad districts are not covered by Idea 3G. Only BSNL 3G is present there… 2ps/sec video calls and double data offer scheme are nice.

What is the need of hour..? Its not 3G but a good EDGE network because none of the phones available in India support a good battery backup with 3G network.. Also its a total waste of energy to be on 3G for just staying in touch with emails or social networks or something else..
    Idea has following major problems..
    1) No roaming benefit on GPRS which is the most required thing on roaming..Whereas all other operators offer it for free on their network.
    2) No ways to check your Data Balance which allows them to consume whole of your main balance without any disconnection or prior notification..
    3) EDGE speed has been capped down to 15kBps after the 3G launch so that existing customers on 2G are forced to buy their expensive 3G..Vodafone is offering EDGE speeds far better than Idea.
    4) No Daily packs for GPRS like Airtel,Docomo,Vodafone to be activated through USSD.
I was also using Idea since years but ported out to Vodafone and BSNL and having good time there

    Very true…
I m also not an Idea user from past 7months, ported to Vodafone. But I m also an Airtel user so I want Idea 3G as Airtel has tied up with IDEA 3G for giving 3G experience to Airtel users..

Here 53549 is for 2G pack activation but don’t tell usage. Rs.5/13/26/54/98/ packs can be activated.

Ideas minute based 3G packs are attractive but their is no way to check the remaining minutes left and small packs can not be activated using ussd process or SMS. Some 3G packs can only be activated by paper voucher not by e-recharge. These things make me sick. Even idea store don’t have these 3G paper vouchers then how could we expect from retailers. My experience is based on Kolkata circle.
