Idea today announced the launch of its 3G services in J&K circle.
Idea launched 2G services in J&K 2 years back and covers all major population areas such as Jammu, Srinagar, South Kashmir, North Kashmir, Udhampur, Kathua and Sambha and 20 other key population centers across the Himalayan terrain.
Now one can also access Idea 3G services in Himalayan region and can also avail Idea’s 3G services Internet, Video Conferencing, Mobile TV, IdeaMall Application Store, besides many other infotainment services.
Idea has introduced Time-based Billing plan for 3G services enabling users to avail high-end data services without worrying about the volume of usage.
To promote usage, Idea has introduced ‘sachet’ pricing offering attractive trial packages with per day billing starting from Rs 8 per day.

Reliance 3G is very very fast yr bcoz they r using MIMO technology (no operator are using)……..so switch to reliance and get speed upto 28 Mbps………

This is because of the fact that Reliance has a stronger backaul IP network as compared to other private telcos. Operators have setup HSPA+ network of 21.1Mbps but their backhaul network can allow transfer speed of 4-6Mbps only on 7.2Mbps lines. As they will upgrade their network at backend you will be able to experience speed higher than this. Just to know the truth, I once told Idea CC that I’m getting 7-10Mbps speed and he said it’s not possible as we haven’t implemented network to handle or carry data transfer at more than 7.2Mbps at backend. lol

No Bro reliance Gives 21Mbps speed in Kashmir Idea only give 4 to 5Mbps and this speed is only one site only Srinagar Airport and other sites of srinagar are giving on 2Mbps speed Bcoz TRAI gives speed license to operators and its City wise speed alloted……

The case against Idea Cellular by DoT over violation of licensing terms is still in court and no news about it from last 6 months. Though Idea had moved TDSAT and made an appeal but they have left it on Government and DoT to allocate 3G spectrum to Idea in Punjab. Idea tookover Spice Telecom in Punjab and also applied for new license for Punjab circle. As per rules, no company can hold 2 licenses in one circle. DoT hasn’t give clearance to the deal between Spice and Idea. They are asking Idea to surrender license for Punjab and other 5 circle which they are holding and go ahead with the licenses of Spice Telecom but Idea is looking for a payback of license fees from DoT. DoT is not ready to payback and legal fight is going on. So there will be no 3G until any resolution. It may take anything from 1 week to 1 year. The chances of latter is more.
