ICA and NOKIA Launches IMEI Awareness Campaign

ICA and NOKIA Launches IEMI Awareness CampaignTo spread awareness on Mobile Phone With Genuine IMEI, The Indian Cellular Association (ICA) and leading mobile phone giant Nokia India jointly start the campaign in the interest of Peoples of India.

As a part of this campaign  ICA and Nokia India announced with media advertisements that Mobile Phone users can check the IMEI Number by dialing “*#06# from their mobile phone and to check that IMEI number is Genuine or Fake the they can do that just be one SMS “IMEI<space>15 Digit IMEI number” to 57886. The normal SMS charges will be applicable for this service. This service is directly connected with GSMSA IMEI Data Base to provide the correct information on IMEI Numbers.

The Non-IMEI or Fake IMEI Chinese Mobile phone will not work after November 30.The Government of India already imposed a ban on all devices with cloned/Fake IMEI numbers. According to the Indian Cellular Association, around 25 million unbranded mobile handsets, sans genuine International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI), would be disconnected by the end of this month.

The Department of Telecommunication has ruled out an order to disconnect all phones bearing no IMEI (International Equipment Mobile Identity) numbers in them. A strict order which is going to be implemented from  30th November 2009 has been passed.

    I purchased Nokia 7210 Supernova From Planet M Ludhiana in Sept 2009. I got SMS from AP DOT Info and now from AP Airtel that my set has invalid IMEI.A few days back I visited your Ludhiana Service Centre to check genuiness of IMEI of my mobile and they cleared the same to be genuine.
    I have got atleast four massages of fake IMEI.I am mentally harassed as that inspite of buying Nokia set from a reputed chain with invoice I have

    Dear friend, may be its because, your current number may be got cloned by few chinese handsets also… So Call CustomerCare and give phone details (for eg: date & place of purchase, phone model, …) to them… So that they can blame the other cloned CHINESE handsets… But DONT give any single piece of wrong info to them, say if you dont know a detail, then just say I dont know now, else they may doubt you then…

    in my cell there is imei number and also some imei sv number also…it’s nokia n88….so what should i do?…also i send imei on 57886 but no replay……

    I lost my E90 communicator ple let me Know how i gat it back with the help of Nokia because police is taking lot of time and y huge data is their which is of daily requirement
