    Offtopic, but, i m helpless.

I submitted mnp request to IDEA from Vodafone IN prepaid on 21st March. yesterday, 25th march, the porting process was started at 10:42 p.m. after that neither VODAFONE sim nor Idea Sim is in active state. means, vodafone sim is shoowing “registration failed” and no network in Idea sis also. so, I can not call 59059 from the number for validation and thus the number can not active. it is my primary number and so facing lot of problems. I contacted vodafone helpline, they told that the number is port out from Vodafone completely. may be it is in process in Idea. and when I contacted Idea MNP helpline, then they told that it is in process and can not tell when the number get signal/tower. plz wait. but, the none can not understand that the number is very important for me bcz, everyone who want to contact with me can not reach me.

For Idea’s faulty system i am suffering a lot now. do not know when the number will be activated and even the number will be activated any time!! please help me. what should I do? have you faced/listened such problem? I am from Kolkata.

I think you should contact IDEA appellate-authority.

      Appellate Authority – Saurabh Srivastav
Idea Cellular Limited, Srijan Tech Park, 7th floor, DN-52, Sec -5, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091
      Fax – 9088118995

*See I am not very good at telecom but as far as I have seen it takes at least a minimum of 1 week for the porting process to be completed and ur new sim to be active.I myself ported twice and every time it took exactly 1 week.

    • Rama March 26, 2014 2:10 pm

*See you gave your porting request on 21st so it may be completed by 28th or 1st april,

    • SS March 26, 2014 3:01 pm

      Hi arka!

Sorry to hear what has happened but thats the most common problem that customers porting to idea are facing. Unfortunately, you needed to contact nodal officer for that that would take 3-6 weeks to resolve.

    • Yogesh March 26, 2014 3:17 pm

@Arka, in 2012 feb I had ported from TATA indicom to Tata DOCOMO gsm.
It took 7 days. N during those 7days Tata indicom no was active. After a week Indicom signal disappear n then Gsm sim activated.
Vodafone should have keep your no active.
Feel sorry for you, as you said 21, then on 28 -3-14 your Idea sim ll be activated.
You ll ve to wait for 2 more days.

    • Darshan March 26, 2014 3:30 pm

Same case with me 3 yrs ago when I ported reliance cdma to idea
dont worry…it took more 2 days for activation…byt it will activate

      • ROHAN SINGH March 26, 2014 4:03 pm

Total porting process takes 7 days. And when the network of your existing operator wents off the receiver operator network will be available. Black out of the network should not be more than 2hrs and it should happen in night i guess. Never happened to me i have ported thrice. Even if you don’t get network you can do FRC that’s what i did.

File a suit in consumer court stating the loss in the business. thats the only way they’ll clear

      • arka March 27, 2014 6:27 am

Thanks @ROHAN SINGH , @RAMA, @SS, @Yogesh, @Darshan , @Deep mehta. Yes I know it takes 7days. sometimes 10 days also from Idea. But, surprisingly, this time it took only 4-5days. I got approved msg from Vodafone and Idea both End on 25th Evening.

However, my sim does not shows any network till now. I have lodge a complain in c.c and by My Idea Point yesterday. They take 48hrs and 22hrs respectively to solve the issue.

If I want to contact with appellate-authority or nodal officer, then is there any special criteria or I may call/mail them?

Appears to be the best android phone so far. Better than the crappy Samsung. Let’s see they manage their marketing and logistics. Strategic planning I’m watching out for.

    • Rama March 26, 2014 8:25 am

      +1

      • ROHAN SINGH March 26, 2014 12:36 pm

One M8 and Z2 are best phone till now. Samsung Crappy plastic S5 can not be compared to both Xperia Z2 and M8. Samsung can not give premium feel.

        • Rama March 26, 2014 1:20 pm

          +1.
*Apart from that Samsung has not also brought any kind of solid innovation to the table with the S5 this year.Features like Smart scroll, smart wave and S translation etc are more or less gimmicks and hardly do they work properly in real life situations.

*I have compared the HTC One 2014,Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 and once again I find HTC has made the best smartphone in the bunch.

*HTC has also said that the Indian version of HTC One will support LTE on 2300 mhz band. However the trick here is the phone wont come with LTE out of the box and LTE support will be given through a software update although I aint sure if the update will come or not.

          • ROHAN SINGH March 26, 2014 2:08 pm

Yes it will Support Indian version of 4G. Hope Z2 and M2 Dual Supports Indian 4G too.

            • Rama March 26, 2014 2:11 pm

*Hardware wise it will but software update will be rolled out only in the future

  • Darshan March 25, 2014 10:38 pm

Whats the cost and colours available?

    • Darshan March 25, 2014 10:53 pm

Saw last line now you forgot to mention Amber gold in it

      • Rama March 25, 2014 11:35 pm

*Yeah but I read somewhere that the Amber Gold colour is gonna be exclusive to the U.S store Best Buy.Although I am not sure how long the exclusivity would continue

    • Rama March 25, 2014 10:55 pm

HTC One (M8) will be available in
      Gunmetal Grey and Glacial Silver
      colour options in select markets
      starting April.

  • Rama March 25, 2014 10:26 pm

*HTC has once again released a gorgeous device this year.Although the HTC One 2014 is not as revolutionary as HTC One 2013 but still its a device worth having if looks matter.

*Last year HTC screwed up with the 2013 One because of supply chain issues but this year’s 2014 One is reportedly available within a few minutes of the official launch in international markets like U.S and the U.K.Although it remians to be seen how fast they are able to bring it in countries like India where Samsung already has a head start with their Galaxy S5.

*The only thing different is the camera with some depth technology but it remians to be seen if its works well or turns out to be a gimmick.

*HTC is claiming to make some big changes with Sense 6 but that can only be known once a detailed review comes out.
