Gionee has launched a new entry-level smartphone, the CTRL V4S. It was listed on their official website last month during the launch of G-Pad and G5. The device has a 4.5-inch LCD display with FWVGA resolution, similar to its predecessor CTRL V4 which was launched in 2013. This updated version has a better 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone has ION plating and has been passed under the laser carving process. It has a 7.8mm slim body and a great ‘Hotknot’ feature which allows two phones to share photos and videos instantly simply by touching their screen together.

Commenting on the launch, Arvind Vohra, India Head, Gionee Smartphones said, "I am delighted to present our consumers with our latest product, the Gionee CTRL V4S. We have introduced this for discerning consumers who love to be connected on the go and are in the lookout for powerful pocket-friendly devices. India is an important market for Gionee and we feel there is no better way to give back to the consumers than by introducing a new smartphone this festive season. With every product we introduce we have been trying to make communication simpler and faster and have been constantly coming up with new features like the Hotknot in this device.”, he said.

It looks like Gionee has lost its charm after the launch of new brands in India, such as Xiaomi and Asus.
