Game Over, S TEL Suggesting Customers To Opt MNP

Game Over, S TEL Suggesting Customers To Opt MNPS TEL whose mobile service licenses has been canceled by the Supreme Court last week, has now openly asked its customers to Port Out from its Network using Mobile Number Portability (MNP).

In a statement posted in its official portal it says “as our most valued subscribers, we would also like to inform that if you may so deem fit, you may opt for exercising the mobile number portability option available with you and our customer care service shall render all necessary support in this regard”.

This comes at a time when Batelco decided to sell its entire stake from STEL.STel currently holds its licenses in Bihar, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh Assam, North-East and in Jammu and Kashmir and the company is estimated to have a subscriber base of over 3.6 million and also license to offer 3G services.

So is this and END OF STEL ? Do share your views via comments and if you are a STEL customer visit the nearest STEL office and get your port out code.

the supereme court of india has not done well with these companies this decision will surely create negative impact about the indian economic and political power the multinational companies will never opt to enter in the indian economy these companies have been cheated by the govt firstly the made a policy to sell the spectrum through first come first serve basis and now they think they could have earned more money through the auction of the spectrum this is all a game to extract and suck the blood of these poor firms whereas the old telecom players have been benefitted by this decision

  • steve February 16, 2012 4:39 pm

    Kumar :
What a cruel decision by supreme court of India..
Before cancelling the license of all these operators they should have ordered to seize the total property of all those politicians who were involved in this case as an compensation to the ultimate customers (citizens of India is finally paying the price)..
Now who will take responsibility to provide service to those previous customers.. Supreme court should order BSNL and MTNL to provide service till next auction.. And BSNL and MTNL should be paid from RICH INDIAN CULPRIT POLITICIANS money..

    Wellsaid A+

TRAI and supreme court is eating money from network operators. They should think
before Cancel of 122 Licences Given in 2008.They want only money. No one think
about the customers .What will they do?

What do you mean by first line of your comment?
    Are you gone mad?

    RG wrote absolutely right.
Kindly don’t pass such comment on this discuss forum.
Our comment are welcome here for discuss purpose only & most valuable.

Meaning of first line- They are reselling already sold out spectrum.
It is fault of our ministers & regulator, that they fixed such low price & sold in informal manner.
Then, these telcos took spectrum on such low price through informal manner.

    Someone sold, then someone took.
Why only telcos should be fired ?
All involved leaders should be hanged till death, which will be equal punishment to both sides.

  • saiesh February 15, 2012 2:44 pm

Really feel sorry for Stel, punished for no fault.

  • sai charan kv February 15, 2012 12:21 pm

uninor is also stops it’s network operations until they get new licencee it will take more than 6-7 months due auction process and formalities and operations are closed before 4 months as per SC orders

Uninor Subscribers can freely recharge with high value…. Uninor is going to stay in indian market for long.

  • Saurabh February 15, 2012 12:16 am

1st & last (hope), wrong decision by supreme court, which arises question mark on its independency ???
(Because, its decision of cancelling 122 licencee clearly favors UPA Govt. beyond reality, as both sides are equal guilty).

Black chapter in Indian Telecom History starts now.

All d best for bright future to STel employers, who are going to affect completely.

  • Keshav Jha February 14, 2012 11:00 pm

  • deb February 14, 2012 10:26 pm

    Kaushik Roy :
Please do not recharge with high value vouchers of affected operators like Uninor,MTS,Idea.SC already ordered cancellation of these licence. So DOT/TRAI any time can scarp these licences and re-auction them.Because only if someone vacated licence and spectrum then only these can be re-auctioned.When a operator service is still in existence that licence and spectrum can not be auctioned again. Its going to happen to all affected operators within 1 month or less.
I now recharged only with RC 35 Idea kolkata bcoz if network is going to be stopped I will loose balance of 30 only

    hmm thik bolechho….amio uninor a 30 top up diye recharge korachhi sudhu matro…..full talk time , chaap o nei…….gele 30takar upor diye e jabe……

    @Shankar Rai

Yah! This is so sad….a company should never be closed for such bad govt. decisions …..maybe it has a small customer base but still it was serving a lot of people.

Imagine a customer care telling its customer to port out even though he/she knows that as soon as people will port out he/she will be jobless.

I really feel sad for STEL employees. God bless them!

  • Shankar Rai February 14, 2012 7:53 pm

i think STEL is the best telecom in India … and call rates is also cheap .. i speak STEL customer care today .. but i feel very sad without STEL ..Customer Care say .. Sir plz move MNP to any other network

    SO SAD News yar ……………

  • WiMAX February 14, 2012 6:51 pm

one of my facebook frnd who lives in himachal pradesh , told me that in those place where tata docomo has no spectrum in himachal pradesh, after exit of S-tel now tata docomo get their spectrum and now tata docomo testing their own network,, is this information is correct or wrong can any body clear my answer ?? thanks

  • Saurabh February 14, 2012 5:56 pm

    Worst news.
Bad impression published due to UPA Govt. & Supreme court.
If fault is on both side (telcos & UPA Govt.), then, both should be fired.
    Supreme court fired telcos only.
    Why not UPA Govt ?

This type of game over by STel is not only suicide, it is creation of pressure to go to suicide.
Then, same thing should be implemented for UPA Govt.
All involved leaders should sent to jail for lifetime.

    It would be real judgement.

  • sud February 14, 2012 2:30 pm

Take bribe from them then cancel licences !!!!! What an idea sir ji …

Incapable operators are going out is a welcome move, but i read STel is shut down its services days before the SC order. Now TRAI should take a necessary actions to port out the customers to other network easily and compensate their prepaid balance/postpaid deposit without any issues.

  • Balu February 14, 2012 11:54 am

This Magic Made by Supreme Court(so no use of blaming S tel),who ever cheated to Govt they are(Kanimoli,Raja and others)n-joying but who ever paid money to get License those people are struggling….what a I(n)DIA
