    dude i hav read in a magazine abt tatadocomo b4 launch,their ceo said dat they will reach break even in 5 years,so they r undrgoing loss as it is in their strategy,moreovr short term loss z acceptable 4 long term gains

  • rahulraj January 11, 2011 11:37 am

    tata indicom tata docomo tata virgin tata t24, good coverage

  • hariprasad January 10, 2011 5:42 pm

    @sagar kinkar
    but they will have to pay heavy fee to tata for using their towers and spectrum…and thus their survival is very difficult…

  • Amit.G January 10, 2011 5:37 pm

    @sagar kinkar
    Buddy they have to pay TATA for using spectrum and towers!!!! nothing is free

  • sagar kinkar January 10, 2011 5:29 pm

    I don’t think like this. Cause they have no spectrum charges and not any other tower charges. But people will buy products of future group cause they will give sim and talktime free. Hence it will always made benefits.

    @Raghu
    But dude do u know the cost of acquiring 1 customers?? It is 180-200rs. an operator should spend around 180-200rs to acquire one customer. Free talktime with free sim card is given so tat a customer will use tat service in future also but unfortunately Indians are using it in different way. No single new operator( Docomo,uninor,Aircel,reliance,videocon,Stel) is in profit all have mounted heavy loss & everybody expects to Break even in 3-4years. This scenario is not possible with all operators as it is analysed tat only 6players/circle can survive in market in next 5 years.
    So their will be either “consolidation” or “Acquisitions” in next 3 years.
    Videocon,Loop,Etisalat will prefer selling their operations. Uninor if failed to break even in 3 years will lead to Exit of telenor from India

    @Raghu
    Yes Cheers Is Not Acceptable as Indian Operator Coz One Of My Friends Using Cheers In Delhi and He Squashed it out as they are Having Pathetic Coverage

  • Raghu January 10, 2011 4:49 pm

    @Amit.G
    i think if there is no profit they would have never got into this telecom business at all. what do u say? just they will launch the services and everyone will buy the SIM and use the talk time and throw it out. Similarly the same will happen to Cheers mobile when they launch the services

  • Amit.G January 10, 2011 4:15 pm

    I dont think these companies will make profit. any news abt virgin GSM in karnataka??? nobody knows whether it s present or shut its operations. very very less retailers havin virgin rc
