MTNL and BSNL should take a joint decision and abolish all tariff differences for similar services to the subscribers amongst these PSUs ! Ths subscribers of these units are at the receiving end especially while ROAMING (a classic example as expressed in TT -Mumbai and maharashtra/goa circles) This is to be done immediately of obvious reasons (Read MNP options) and project, in letter and spirit, a PAN-INDIA entity ! Also the concerned at BSNL and MTNL should update its systems and networking equipments. In this context the it is really appreciable that @MTNL BSNL is taking grievances in all sincerely, that too without loosing coolness ! It is my sincere wish that all the present subscribers and probable ones too, support them so that get success in their endeavour, i.e. to take up our problems at appropriate levels !

one more thing i think u have to give that feature online for plan changing with user and password in the net atleast. so if the subscribers take action u can show them the proof that u have made the request via online the request.u can have ample proof that the customer has only changed the plan. In this Internet world everything is possible i request you to atleast look into this. this is more of a valid point i suppose.so that the customer will have not take the burden of going to nearest CSC.

MTNL BSNL is a normal subscriber of MTNL, who knows everyone of MTNL, BSNL Mh circle higher authority who are eveready to listen & act positively upon subscribers grievences, I am utilizing my relations for positive purpose, we can say it’s help to our MTNL & BSNL loyal subscribers. Most of them are happy on our work. For e.g Dayle Soares(Charkop CSC no sim cards), Amit M (Maker tower) & many more who interacted with MTNL RF team & discussed about network issue. Most of the issues are closed by MTNL RF team after getting sms from us. If anyone from TT readers/Experts not want me here then kindly comment on this, we will stop it. Telecom talk reader require your comment on this if it’s positive or negative. Thanking you all who trusted on 9869347070 & my personal mail id. I got more than 10 emails rleated to BSNL, 20 smses about Data card, 3G low speed etc are in the process, everyone will get response from MTNL & BSNL in next couple of days.Till then bye.

We want you here badly. BSNL/MTNL has very good plans and no problem of false deduction/billing. Both have very good coverage. The only problem is network and service. All problems occur due to maintenance or tower shut down. Some time we get signal from our nearby tower but some time from a remote tower. If service gets correct, then BSNL/MTNL will be on top position. I am eagerly waiting for those days. BSNL/MTNL use karte samay ek deshbhakti sa bhaw jag jata hai, isliye kuchh problems face karne ke baad bhi hum use karte rahte hain. Kyon na humlog milkar BSNL/MTNL ko sabse acchha bana dein?

Raghu, 1st i want to mention you one thing that both companies are PSU(Government operated) In Govt everything they require written proof to act as per your request. Both co. have very bad experience on such telephonic VAS activations. Subcsribers pull, take action against them in telephone Adalat, subscriber directly ask to show written documents, show our signature or show our written application. They also confess that they never picked the call of helpline & they directly refuse to pay the charges for that services which they utilize for the last month. So that both the Co. stopped telephonic request approval. Expecting you will understand the importance of hard copy with applicant/subscriber’s signature. Telephone Adalat always take necessary action to avoid business loss & image of Company among the subscribers or people. As a result they started to take application from subscribers & it should be submit in nearest CSC. Expecting your doubt is clear now. Its better for both of us. Minor hurdle but finally full of legal, no one subscriber can get wrong billing & no unwanted activation from PSU.

one suggestion, if any customer wants to change plan in Postpaid he has go to the nearest customer care executive office and then write a letter to change the plan. it will be nice if u can give that authority to the customer care executives on phone so that we can change plan in the phone only and there is no need to go there. All the private operators change the plan on phone only. i hope ur people will also implement it.

i think u have to add Andhra Pradesh Circle into ur list also .

Wait & watch we are going to add entire circle of BSNL & MTNL. Raghu Your complaint of BSNL network is escalated to concern dept of Andhra Pradesh circle. They will be contact you in next couple of days.

Remove the DISCRIMINATIONS of subscribers between BSNL and MTNL. Let BSNL and MTNL come together for practical purposes and project a PAN-INDIA presence in the changed circumstances (I mean, MNP regime !) As for the present, as I mentioned, both are sure losers !

Very true PD…And Why MTNL is discriminating between MTNL Delhi and MTNL Mumbai circle??
Because MTNL Delhi has Roaming @ 0.70ps/min plan while roaming in BSNL circles Nationally. Already this is posted on Telecom Talk talk also check this link http://telecomtalk.info/mtnl-delhi-launches-trump-rc53-and-new-sms-pack/48426/

So why only Mumbai MTNL subscriber has to roam with Rs.1.50/min from Roaming BSNL network nationally?? Whether MTNL thinks that Mumbai is richer city, so for them Rs.1.50/min from roaming is okk or they can afford it??

Its in progress n u vil find d effect frm 2nd week of Feb. Thx for ur gr8 observation n feedbk

this heavy traffic problem for MTNL user while in BSNL NW is also observed at Ulhasnagar, Bhiwandi And Vasai MSCs. So look at that also.. And ask your MTNL Roaming team to reduce the roaming rates atleast while in Maharashtra BSNL NW at urgent basis. Now suppose one MTNL user is in Mumbai local trn suburbs area of Vasai, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Badlapur, Karjat area and he calls Airtel, Vodafone num of Mumbai circle then he is charged Rs.1.50/min. All above suburbs area are hardly 50kms away frm Mumbai. Then also rates taken by MTNL like above 500km area away frm Mumbai. And in the era of per second billing even frm roaming is observed almost by every operator then why only MTNL being an PSU operator then also taking rs.1.50/min frm roaming?

Related to charges it’s as per the TRAI guidelines, to remove surcharges we already forwarded this case to Central Govt. We are also not like that differential & all that things are mentioned to remove surcharges to MTNL subscribers during Mh Goa BSNL roaming areas. We are eagerly awaited for their reply. Due to such problem we are having problem with corporate subscribers also who have head office in Mumbai & local offices in Mh circle. We are trying to close roaming for Mh circle. Remember one thing MTNL is the 1st GSM operator who made Incoming calls in Mh goa absolutely free without any roaming rental charges. We try our level best to offer affordable call rates to our loyal subscribers. You will find our affordable call rates in Video calls half paisa per second. data usage 1p/10kb, Missed call alerts Rs 15/month & Play tune Rs 20/month. 12sec/paisa Youth plan etc, own MTNL Delhi or Mumbai network 20p/min without any FUP or any rate cutter.
Related to BSNL network congestion problem we are made 100% efforts with evidence to BSNL head office to increase the capacity of intra circle MSC, They are agreed & their vendor are working on it with new set up. After 15th of Feb you will never find differences if you call to BSNL number or MTNL number.

I am MTNL Mumbai subscriber from last 5 years.. Now I am telling you fact that from 1 Feb 2010 Mumbai MTNL & BSNL Maharashtra joins hand for free roaming agreement for each other circle roaming.. that got also implemented right from 1st FEB 2010 itself!! I personally checked it and my friends and relatives also checked that MTNL Mumbai subscriber was charged as per plan while in roaming BSNL Maharashtra CIRCLE(i.e I was having pay per second plan Rs.45 activated in my MTNL number so I was charged 1ps/2sec for calling MTNL Mumbai & BSNL Maharashtra Circle numbers and all other Local calls & Std calls at 1ps/sec while in BSNL Maharashtra Network also!!! that is same home plan(Mumbai) benefits while BSNL NW Maharashtra circle.. This rates were enjoyed by me from 1st Feb 2010 to 7th Feb 2010 but from 8th Feb 2010 MTNL changed my rates and now only MTNL & BSNL numbers at 1ps/sec and other at Rs.1.50/min while in BSNL Maharashtra network.. So then why first seven days MTNL give me same home plan rates while BSNL Maharashtra network.. And after 7 days what pressurize MTNL to changed the rates again??
On other hand BSNL Maharashtra till date is giving same home rate benefits for BSNL Maharashtra subscriber while roaming in MTNL Mumbai network.. Then Why Only MTNL reverse its decisions of same home rates in just seven days then??
Due to this Many MTNL Mumbai subscriber are porting to private operator through MNP to avoid roaming charges while in Rest of Maharashtra circle…
Now latest news is that IDEA & Vodafone postpaid user will be charged as same home rate plans for Mumbai & Rest of Maharashtra circle in each other circle.. and they are also removing prepaid users roaming charges for both Mumbai & Rest of Maharashtra circle users in each other circles in next 45 days..
So MTNL you also do the same of removing roaming charges while in BSNL Maharashtra network…

    PD pg_ap_gmo@bsnl.co.in is not for your issue it’s concerned to only Andhra Pradesh state BSNL subscribers. You need to send emails to cgm_mh@bsnl.co.in;
Related to your issue which is very complicated, it’s completely depend on air direction. If you are located under the MTNL Mumbai GSM Licensed area then we will try to offer you IBS or repeater for your indoor network improvement which will block the illegal BSNL Cellone signal in MTNL Licensed area. For that we need your Postal address to verify the same, after receiving your postal address we will send our RF team to verify the situation. So kindly send your postal address on 9869347070 for quicker action from MTNL Mumbai. Expecting positive response from your side.

Well, I am staying outside NewPanvel limit -( keep in mind, just 200-250 METERS away from the limit of MTNL, but close a BSNL exchange)and all my MTNL sims goes into BSNL roaming intermittently. To avoid this MANUAL mode was set for Network Selection (for Cellone). So the problem is same like you face ! Further, whenever a call is made to any private operators Rs.1/50 is deducted (even with Rs.45 STV). Therefore took BSNL sims (with STV 69) too ! And lo ! Now in your boat by default ! You are unhappy while roaming MTNL’s boat, but we face problems even after having sims of both our PSUs. I am unhappy not only with MTNL but more BSNL because I have to live in the jurisdiction. Still I lose hope ! With a family of 6 members we have over a dozen sims/mobiles. All are active and purchased for experiments. It looks funny that for all practical purposes = we are floating on all the networks, use them scrupulously! [MTNL/BSNL/Vodafone/Tata (Both)/Reliance(Both)]. Everybody carry dualsim phones. Also note I have a land line of BSNL for exclusive use of broadband ! And sometime I get calls in this too !

As for BSNL -For a128k 3GUSIM I have had approached almost all including cmdbsnl@bsnl.co.in – but not the two email ids mentioned somewhere here – well will try later : pg_ap_gmo@bsnl.co.in & osdbsnl@bsnl.co.in

I don’t mean any offence to anybody from these PSUs. In this context MNP is helpful tool – I can do practical hop-stop-and jump with just one number !

@Jayakrishnan Please manually search the network select to other operator except Dolphin you will display no network access/access denied then select Dolphin & dial your own number, if you hear engage tone (Probable on BSNL subscriber)or The number you have dialed is busy please call after sometime then its OK if not then its completely issue origin from your MSC. If said number not responding with you then post your comment here we will offer you CGM & CMD BSNL number so always stay tune on telecom talk.

    Mr Swapnil,
Hope you are an ardent supporter of MTNL. But, I fully agree with PD. I am a BSNL customer and I am suffering lot due to that. When I am in BSNL area, everything is fine. Any one can catcht me. But I am out in MTNL area from 7.30 AM to 8 PM and is either difficult or impossible to catch me. When I complained with BSNL, they told me that when I go out I am catered by Dolphin of MTNL and their ntwork in some area is very poor and they can do nothing to solve this problem. I have some friends in MTNL and when I brought this matter to them, they advised me to jump out of the boat when MNP comes. Like “Videsh sanchar Nigam”, one day you can hear that MTNL is also swallowed by some blue whale. So if any one need a good service, whey to port into this sinking boat ? I am in the process of porting to a good serice provider. Offers announced by MTNL is only an eye wash. I am sure if anyone port to MTNL, they will repent and will be eagerly awaiting for 90 days to complete so as to port again to another good service provider.

You just need to speak with your BSNL team, just snd sms to me regarding your complaint we will definitely check our roaming system & keep u updated on it. Send sms to 9869347070 & disclose your Mumbai circle location also speak to your BSNL MSC kolhapur team (9422050075, 9422050000, 9422801010) for this issue. @mtnl Thank you, For the first time I could see somebody (?) coming online in TT ! Still sorry to state that there is nothing new in these offers! All the special goodies are valid for just 30 days and the rest are already there in some form or other for quite sometime ! As far as the tariff plans are concerned MTNL scores over its competitors IN MUMBAI however all these goodies/offers are useful only within the courtyard (only for Mumbai and its metro limits – and some special locations). Though Mumbai/Mah/Goa are considered as ONE the MTNL subscribers get the beating whenever they crisscross within the areas even in Maharashtra State, leave alone Goa State !
I just got a msg from MM50500 “Thank you for your valuable patronage. Continue experiencing wider network coverage. 3G connectivity, best voice, video, and data tariffs only MTNL”
Is it not amusing ? Unexpected acknowledgements !- Better option would be that both PSUs (i.e.MTNL and BSNL) sit together and chalk-out uniform plans, more or less taking cue from the private operators. Else mtnl can see – Rats leaving the sinking ship !
The question still remain – Who is calling shots in these PSUs

Suppose a customer is not happy with PSU – MTNL’s services in Mumbai/Delhi (2 circles) – Who gains, of course any one of the private operators ! Similar is the case of BSNL in 20 circles. In either case the LOSER is PSUs ! This is the result of self destructive NON COMPETENCE AGREEMENT between them ! Absurd and shameful !If one interested in only PSUs for some reasons, then wait till the implementation of INTRA-CIRCLE NUMBER PORTABILITY (after 10 years ? True, as per the current status record !)

Most of the middle class people who can’t afford to have a home in the city limits (limit of MNTL too) stay in and around the metro limit and work for their livelihood in Mumbai and commute up and down crisscrossing the metro limits ! Very well said.. all living in surburbun area like Vasai- Virar, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, Karjat, Khopoli area suffers a lot due to roaming Not only MTNL but Vodafone & Idea s hould also stop now roaming charges between Mumbai & Rest of Maharashtra circle from now.. Sab kuch de diya as a welcome kit for private operator subscribers who really want to port to MTNL Mumbai, soon MTNL will launch mobile to Landline one number free. That time these subscribers will get benefited, Ek baar jo MTNL ko port karega woh dubara kahi bhi port nahi karega

    Abhijit :
Also in that MNP offer if national roaming charges were also at 1ps/sec while roaming in BSNL circles then it would be best offer to port in!!

    Absolutely agreed on your comment

And once you are PORTWS-IN : Pay heavily (through nose !) whwnwcwe you cross their courtyard, i.e. Mumbai and Delhi. – The Mumbaikar suffers a lot. Most of the middle class people who can’t afford to have a home in the city limits (limit of MNTL too) stay in and around the metro limit and work for their livelihood in Mumbai and commute up and down crisscrossing the metro limits ! Unkeliye MTNL bilkul sahi nahi hai ! MNP offers no Offers !
