DELL Launches Venue and Venue Pro Smartphones in India

Reiterating India’s strategic importance and its commitment to the growing number of smartphone users here, DELL today announced the launch of its Venue and Venue Pro 3G smartphones at the Bangalore Fashion week.

Both latest 3G smartphones from Dell are now available in India on all GSM/3G networks. Venue and Venue Pro users on the Aircel network will enjoy exclusive privileges of Free 2 GB Mobile Internet as a preferred partnership between Dell and Aircel, a leading telecom player with Pan India operations.

The Android 2.2 Froyo OS based DELL Venue priced at Rs.29990 which has a vibrant, high-contrast 10.4 cm (4.1-inch) AMOLED display with curved Gorilla Glass technology.The Venue’s elliptical, slender form factor feels great in hand and also slips easily into the pocket.

It has 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor with 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM. Venue also comes fully equipped with today’s necessary business features including support for ActiveSync and QuickOffice. The combination of high speed access and Swype for fast text input makes viewing e-mail, editing documents, and surfing the web fast and easy.

The 3.5G enabled smartphone Dell Venue comes with 8 mega pixel camera with auto focus and 4x Zoom. Other features of the smartphone includes WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, Gravity Sensor, E Compass, and 1400mAh battery.

The DELL Venue Pro priced at Rs.34990 is slider phone runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 7 mobile OS. Powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm CPU, the Dell Venue Pro supports quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as triband UMTS/HSDPA-3G (7.2 Mbps)/HSUPA (5.76 Mbps) at 900/1700/2100 MHz, WiFi b/g , 5 mega pixel auto focus camera and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. The 4.1″ Gorilla Glass protected AMOLED touchscreen supports the Windows Phone 7 typical WVGA resolution.

    see how microsoft is sucking oem (here dell) and in turn oem(dell here) is sucking money from us or customer….see the hardware compromise on dell venue pro just to show win7phone on its screen…and guess what its even more pricey…thats demonstrate why windows based phones WERE super flops and how it will be again… and it clearly demonstrate the microsoft’s non-committment to smartphone os…

    sanjay ji, i would like to know a mid end (rs 10k to 20k) android phone with video calling …. i think it is very rare to see one…. nokia is good at mid range video calling smart phones…
