The Government of India today brings the good news for the peoples of Jammu and Kashmir by lifting the Ban on Pre-paid mobile Services in the state; nearly by two and a half months after imposing a ban on Prepaid in last year (November-2009).The Central Government announced that It has lifted the Ban on the Prepaid mobile services in J&K with immediate effect but put stringent conditions on operators for verification of customers.
As earlier we shared on TelecomTalk, The Union Home Ministry had imposed the Ban on Pre-paid Mobile Services on November 2009 and Home Minister P Chidambaram had recently said that if the service providers come up with a foolproof plan of 100 per cent verification and the ministry was satisfied with it, then the issue may be revisited.
The Government of India also revised guidelines for re-verification of existing pre-paid subscribers and verification of new subscribers for issuance of new pre-paid and pot-paid mobile connections in Jammu and Kashmir Service Area.To know more on the new guideline just click here Revised guidelines for Mobile Services In J&K

Many ppl here dun hav bsnl l.l or bsnl p.paid so they wl sufr…If they want ful verifictn they shld get our sims dlvrd by state police..!

@Fahad, boss have u checked the new guidelines,one of the condition is-only one prepaid/postpaid connection allowed to a customer if he/she opts for the 2nd or ananthor there should be valid reason for that anathor condition is in a family no of connection should not exceed six,if the ist condition means only i conxn whosoever the operator is than it is a case of pure discrimination, what do u think?regarding this

Now is the time to give suggestions and inputs on how this UID Project can be designed and implemented to be people-friendly, useful and easily executable for government. (c)

Don’t know about STel but Etisalat is not coming to J&K,sorry mate,….because it does not have the license in that circle,..it has license in only 15 circles all over India out of 22.

@Fahad, tumhare khvahish INSHAALLAH pouri hone vale hai, as MTS has setup ivr for j&k circle numbers just check 09140155155,alothough ivr setup need not always indicate the service to be avalibule soon but i guess same was the case with idea as they setup an ivr for their j&k circle numbers before kolkata&wb circle although the launch was to be planned in these 2 circles, but the service was rolled in j&k first so, all i mean to say is that ivr setup indicates “service will be launched soon” isn’t try the mentioned number mts j&k ie 09140155155 from ur vodafone

@Fahad,look wht was the response from vodafone”good news.AS Per D.O.T India,prepaid to be restored in j&k.we will be in touch with you,as soon as we receive details and confirmation from the govt” when i called the reliance cc helpline to confirm the recharge transction the lazy cc man told me we haven’t received any info regarding this, ie ban was lift today
