I am Ranadeep from Kolkata using Uninor for around 1 year. I am a student and since Uninor is providing cheap onnet calls, affordable SMS packs I chose it over other operators.
I am following Telecomtalk very closely for a long time; recently I came across an article – ‘Can Uninor Sustain in India?’ saying Uninor is not concentrating on data business.
When it was published I was not very much bothered about data services by Uninor. Two weeks back I bought Samsung Galaxy Smartphone and recharged with Rs 90 for 6GB GPRS data.
Since I recharged this GPRS pack valid for 30 days, I find several problems with Uninor GPRS/EDGE.
1. Uninor website does not mention daily cap of 200 MB. In spite of that Uninor website mentions 6GB/1.4GB on STV90/STV24. This simply misleads users.
2. Uninor GPRS is too slow all the time. I heard from one of my friends who is still a Uninor customer, Uninor earlier used to offer great GPRS/EDGE speed (30kBps+), and now for some unknown reason Uninor EDGE is now totally gone crazy (5-12kBps). Read more…
We often tag BSNL as a operator with worst customer care service. But sometimes you may get exceptional services from BSNL employees. You may call it luck or whatever, but it is true that BSNL fails to act when necessary. Anyway Let’s read Steve’s story of how BSNL turns good Samaritan to him.
Here we are mentioning what exactly this customer narrates
I am Steven from Goa. I was an airtel customer for the last five six years I was very happy with airtel. But when I came to know that airtel dint get 3G licence in Goa I was very disappointed. The only operator with 3G that time was BSNL. So I decided to move to BSNL via MNP.
I gave the request for MNP and after about 10 days my number was ported to BSNL. I was very happy to see 3G network on my cell phone. Got sms to dial 123 to activate the services. So I did that and my services were active. Read more…

From last couple of days we all became as spectators to experience a unusual change in Indian telecom industry.
Someone hiked their tariffs whereas someone stops its free bundled service like to be paid. Whose to blame! New operators also dared to hiked tariff inspite of poor market share.
In this scenario only one thing seems to e precious that is nothing but customer experience. TRAI already stated that they received maximum no of complaints from biggies like Airtel,Tata ,Reliance & others. Many of ours are tried with tariff hike, poor customer experience, unauthorized vas activation etc. etc.
In case of CDMA segment, players centered their concentration to Data Card business. High end CDMA handset market is lacking because of non availability of OMH RUIM and useless standalone 1X/EVDO plan. And Even 1X/EVDO activation on your existing OMH RUIM may give you terrible experience. Read more…
One of our team mate Srikapardhi who hails from Andhra Pradesh is facing issue with Value added services of Uninor which is one of the fastest growing operators in India and he has shared his experience with us.
If you remember Uninor launched its My Music service around 7 months back under Value Added Services.
Though VAS Services provide entertainment to the customer, it is the responsibility of the Operator to check if the Activation and Deactivation procedures go smooth without any mislead for the benefit of the customer.
But what if anything goes wrong with the procedure? The customer is the one who is indirectly affected with deduction of Monthly Rental. Srikapardhi is facing a similar kind of situation from 2 months and now he has decided to pen down his experiences with our readers. Read more…
I am using the postpaid GSM servcies from Reliance Communications from the time when they launched their services in Mumbai telecom circle. Approximately close to a year back. From day 1 the company offers GPRS/EDGE services over postpaid connections. But in Reliance things are not so simple for the GPRS access.
Reliance offers two types of Internet services on their Post Paid GSM cards. First is Full GPRS/EDGE services through Reliance Netconnect Platform & the second is Reliance Mobile Internet which is technically more advance version of WAP services.
The Reliance Netconnect is basically accessed through the APN called RCOMNET. Its charged as per minute based plan rather than the usage based. The charges are 60 paise/minute in Peak hours & 30 paise/minute in Off Peak hours. Its a full fledged Internet service & its a TCP/IP connection. We can connect our phones to PC or Laptop to enjoy the Wireless Internet on the move. Also it does not feature any proxies. The speed I get in this plan is generally varies from 180 Kbps to 260 Kbps in Mumbai as well as in Pune. The biggest drawback of this plan is the COST STRUCTURE. Read more…
