Do one thing. Call cc of bsnl & tell them about the less speed. Also mention that sometimes even don’t connect especially at night. If your luck is good, your number will be forwarded to their gprs dept & you might be offered a better bandwidth. I did the same process & now I’m downloading even at the rate of 100kbps(avg). Your set is not 3g supported. But you still may njoy 30-40kbps(download). Just try out & if you are lucky, you will certainly get the most of bsnl.

I live in Narayanpur(near Kaikhali),right now i am using Nokia 5130 xpress music, Yes, I get full signal strength here.
    I get
    5(evening)-10(morning)kbps download speed from BSNL
    8(evening)-20(morning)kbps download speed from Airtel
    10(evening)-25(morning)kbps download speed from docomo

perhaps it is my bad luck that everyone enjoying BSNL gprs, but i cant.
I my area i prefer airtel, becoz though docomo have good gprs speed it has worst coverage here.In docomo I need to go to roof with my laptop and mobile for surfing internet, i cant access it in my own room. But in Airtel i can access internet anywhere in my house and get full network.

I’m using it at barasat. Last 2 weeks I’m getting blazing fast speed. Don’t know why. Actually the gprs speed also depends upon the area you are in & the handset you are using. In my area bsnl rocks whereas all the others including docomo(hvn’t used uninor & virgin) sucks. I use nokia 5230. By the way where do you live & what speed are you getting right now? Do you have full signal strength? What handset do you use?

thanks….as your recommendation i have bought a new BSNL 2G sim, and get 50MB free gprs usage. But the speed is very slow compare to DOCOMO or Airtel, perhaps my nearby BSNL network is not 3g enabled.
Anyway thank you for sharing valuable information.
