BSNL Upgraded GSM SIM embedded SMS based Utility Services

With a view to provide customer friendly utility services to its 2G and 3G mobile customers, state owned telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), has launched upgraded version of SIM embedded SMS based new services.

The New STK (SIM Tool Kit) for its GSM mobile customers is menu based services are available through SMS. The utility services are embedded in SIM and are easier to use as they are pre-configured. The BSNL customers need not dial any short code for accessing any particular service from their mobile phone.

According to BSNL, STK based Value Added Services are being provided by BSNL in collaboration with leading VAS Content developer Spice Digital in all circles of North & West zones and ACL Wireless in all circles of South & East zones.

Giving details of the new services to TelecomTALK, Anupam Shrivastava, Director (Consumer Mobility) BSNL  said, "BSNL mobiles customers, through Cellone Menu, can get various information like News, Finance, Rail /Air Reservation status, Cricket scores etc. STK based applications are facilitated by Wireless Internet Browser (VVIB) and are really customer friendly to use."
