Finally BSNL Revises Broadband Plans, But No Cheers!

Finally BSNL Revises Broadband Plans No CheersFor last 2 months, we were really excited to see bandwidth upgrade on BSNL’s wired ADSL broadband plans.

But it is pity that BSNL fails (as usual) to feel the pulse of the subscribers. They increased the bandwidth on selected plans ( Combo625 & 750UL ) but upto a certain usage, leaving the subscribers in a mourning state.

In Andra Pradesh BSNL has lost many broadband customers due to ultra high speed fibre based broadband offering by Beam Telecom.

Beam packages are made very affordable to both home and office users.

Details of revised broadband plans

Rental per month Broadband usage Free Calls
Plan 1 Rs 625 4GB upto 512kbps, then 256kbps UL 100
Plan 2 Rs 750 6 GB upto 1Mbps, then 512kbps UL nil

The revision has been confirmed from Hyderabad Telecom district, Andra Pradesh Circle, BSNL.

We simply do not understand BSNL’s marketing policy, it would be great if BSNL gives the double bandwidth during night hours as MTNL is also offering such plans. We expect with 4G roll out many users will move out from BSNL broadband.

BSNL Always sucks more money then MTNL. If I would have option to choose between these two, I will choose MTNL alwaays. Almost all charges in MTNL is less than BSNL. At least in Broadband!!

The limit 4GB and 6GB is also less. :(

u bsnl just think for monthly fixed income but not about to upgrade urs all serives in time to time

    To All,
I would like to inform you that being a representative of BSNL Young Executive forum, BSNL is great organization for the nation but it’s being ruined by the bureaucrats despite being a PSU until today there is no significant changes in the HR policies especially employing & promoting the best talent within the organization. Out of 55K Executives only 20% are the professionally qualified as engineers and accounts Officers most of them working for past 10 years in the bottom of pyramid. Several times we demanded performance based work culture from Govt, management for delightful services, but both turned deaf to our pleas. Hence no accountability and responsibility; now as reward for the sluggish and pathetic service offered to the customers now BSNL Management demanded 18000 Crores bailout for VRS from Govt (hard earned money of general public). With full grace Govt has readily accepted VRS proposal from bureaucrats and agrees to pay from the tax payer’s money. Without realizing the mistakes it committed for past 10 years for not seeking original reasons for the losses incurred in BSNL. Now each slothful employee will get lakhs of rupees as compensation for VRS precisely this is called “attempting impossibilities”. No one knows whether BSNL will turn around aftermath of VRS. Only the general public needs to understand who their tax money going into the bottom less pits.

    To dhruv,
I agree that customer care is worst in BSNL. There is not even 24 hours customer care. The 1500 is run by 3rd party outsourcing and not by BSNL. So BSNL does not provide 24 hours problem recording and rectification.
    .
BSNL’s working hours in my town is from 10 AM to 5 PM (including 1 hour lunch) !!!!. Then means there are only 6 working hours remaining. ALL BSNL OFFICIALS do not work even for those 6 hours. If you call a higher official of your exchange at 11 AM, no one will attend. If you call even at 04:45 PM, no one will attend. So BSNL must increase the working duration so that it should be 8 hours (working) + 1 hour for lunch. Total 9 hours. Then working hours should be from 9 AM to 6 PM.
    .
The above is the only reason (officials not even working properly) for BSNL running in loss. BSNL should throw out such officials and appoint EFFICIENT working people.

    Sudhakar :
    To all :
Beam broadband has FUP on all unlimited plans. I think 10 Mbps plan has 30GB FUP. Call customer care before posting. Do not boast much about beam which is a small company serving only a city. Think about BSNL which even serves remote areas. I am not talking in favour of BSNL, but telling the fact.

    thats rite,
but if beam can take bandwidth from BSNL or VSNL and sell us at almost less then half rate, then why cant BSNL??

you already told that bsnl has vast service area, so they can take advantage of whole country.
they have such technology that they can easily give 10mbps speed, but they lacks good supervisor !! (i mean General Manager)

Yes, Beam broadband has FUP of 30GB on 10Mbps plan, but post FUP speed is 2Mbps!! Which is 4 times the post FUP of BSNL !!

First of all each and every operator must have the capability to supply 2 connections to each Indian. Even if some people do not take broadband, it can be kept on reserve. Then only the companies can manage bandwidth effectively.

    To Sumanta,
    Well said.

    To all :
Even if BSNL does not upgrade the speed (to acceptable level) and has worst customer care, the broadband service has 99% uptime (except in highway areas where the highway men will cut the cable frequently) compared to private operators. Atleast we should be happy for this. What to do?. It is all our fate to live in this TECHNOLOGICALLY SLUM COUNTRY (india).

also i am usng reliance broad band net that to wire less its gives best sped in rs 400 5 gb day time usa and 10 gb at night with speed of 150kBS think what is a good for customer i dont know till what time we can get this best service of rilance in his current rates but at present this plan is rocking”"

BSNL as a company is a total scrap one. They daoesn’t care at all to itz customers who is goin to look after them !!
Night U/L starts from night 2am and lasts upto 8am.Is it worth substance????
I don’t think there is any reason BSNL will get lost from d market if they modify this timing .
Hope something turnaround to come into the market that make BSNL Broadband business into present day Landphone business !!

Waste. No use of upgrading the speed. What about BBG Combo ULD 850 plan which gives 1 Mbps speed upto 8 GB and 256 Kbps after that along with 350 free calls?.

I use upto 45 GB per month (peak) or 30 GB (medium) or 20 GB (normal usage). So no use for me and all those who cross 6 GB in a month.

I think BSNL people basically promoting Airtel and other corporate broadband services. It’s December 2011 still people are using 512 Kbps/750Rs in wired broadband. 3G wireless broadband is only for corporate people, not for every one as it’s very expensive(1MB/1Rs).

Some people are thinking about low cost 4G in India !!!! Shame on BSNL (:
