Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has revised its complete range of ‘Plan Vouchers’ in the line of tariff hike. These new vouchers are valid for both new and existing customers.
All those vouchers are now offering benefits, 40-50% less than earlier benefits. For example in General Prepaid Plan, Free minutes on BSNL and other networks have been slashed by 50% like existing 150 min on on-net and 150 min on off-net have been slashed to 75 min each and 100 minutes of free on-net video calls will not be available any more. Free 100 MB 2G mobile Internet data dropped to 55MB and 100 SMS each for local and national dropped to 25 SMS each.
Apart from the reduction in freebies, BSNL also revised call rates like On-net calls increased from 50p/min to 60p/min, off-net (BSNL to other) mobile calls from 60p/min to 70/min and off-net fixed calls from 60p/min to 90p/min Reduced call charges to 2 BSNL numbers also increased from 30p/min to 40p/min
All prepaid plan vouchers from BSNL – General, Pyari Jodi, Student Special, Jai Jawan and Roam Free have now reduced voice, data and SMS benefits.
Check out the table for details of revised prepaid plans from BSNL:

DEAR RDB SIR,
since a couple of years i’ve been enjoying 30 mins free calls to my home-landline daily only @ Rs. 80 for 90 days. my last recharge was on 10 Dec, 2012. the plan duly expired on 09 march, 2013. but now the recharge of Rs. 80 has failed. no retailer or customer care personnel could tell me the present revised tariff of this plan. PLEASE, HELP ME OUT, SIR!

Comparision of 2G Data Packs between Indian Mobile Operators
In 2012 all the Indian telecom mobile operators revised the tariffs including GPRS packs as, BSNL reduced 2G data usage of from 2GB to 1.25GB on STV98, Uninor reduced day usage from 6GB to 3GB on STV90, Tata Docomo reduced from 6GB to 4GB on STV98(previously STV95), Airtel, Vodafone and Idea 1GB at STV98 and Aircel has withdrawn unlimited packs.
After the first revision of GPRS packs by operators, major telecom operators Bharati Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea have recently hiked the 2G data plans in most of the circles. The significant change effected by these operators are as follows
• 650 MB for 21 days (earlier 1GB for 30 days) is Rs 95-99.
• 1 GB for 30 days is Rs 123-126.
• 1.25 GB for 30 days (earlier 1.5GB or 30 days) is Rs 145-149.
• 2 GB + Unlimited @ 40kbps for 30 days (Earlier this pack priced at Rs 149) is Rs 198.
SI.No Particulars BSNL AIRTEL VODAFONE IDEA
1 500MB Rs.54 – – –
2 650MB – Rs.98 Rs.95-99 Rs.96-99
3 1GB – Rs.125 Rs.123-126 Rs.124-126
4 1.25GB Rs.98 Rs.145-149 Rs.145-149 Rs.147-149
BSNL is providing more than 45% extra data than other private operators and also BSNL offers PAN India free Data Roaming including Delhi and Mumbai areas on MTNL network.
Conclusion:- It can be seen that the prices offered for 2G Data Packs by BSNL, is the best in the present mobile internet market, which is to be the most comfortable to subscribers of GPRS.
Saurabh January 26, 2013 at 6:19 pm
My friend using BSNL recharged with Rs.42 Plan Voucher yesterday and got 1200 seconds On-Net and 600 seconds off-net calling, both valid for All-India calling. Before revision same plan used to offer- 1800 seconds on-net, 1200 seconds off-net, 50MB 2G Data, 100 Local and National SMS and 50 Video calls. It’s good that they didn’t reduced validity which is still same i.e 180 days.
If all are cutting freebies, BSNL is also free to do the same. Good luck to operators on path of recovery.
abhay January 26, 2013 at 6:01 pm
bsnl takes bribe from airtel and voda for not providing beter coverage in rural areas.bsnl can instal towers in govt land.but they r not doing this..
Amit March 3, 2013 at 11:23 am
Seems plausible. In many areas me too also get Airtel and Vodafone’s signal but not BSNL, even in Panchayet office.
sunil January 25, 2013 at 3:26 pm

Saurabh January 25, 2013 at 9:55 am

Dear sudhakar. BSNL take months to update it website. EVEN BSNL CUSTOMER CARE AND BSNL OFFICE PEOPLE ALSO UNAWARE OF THE NEW TARIFFS. THAT IS HOW THEY ARE MANAGING THE SERVICES.
S.Sudhakar January 24, 2013 at 2:18 pm
BSNL is updating the call details. If not, then how come the new booster tariffs are published in Tamilnadu BSNL site?. Tell me?. You are talking as if the tariffs published in the BSNL site are very old. How can you say this?.

tony January 24, 2013 at 12:56 pm
it would be good if you can put a comparison on tariff hike like current vs earlier. it will give a much better perception on how much they have increased and which plan is more impacted with the current increase.
i belilve it was there in the earlier update.

Nirakar Panda January 24, 2013 at 3:55 pm
I have already communicated to the fellow members regarding the change in Tariff particularly for Students Special on 23rd itself.
telecomtalk.info/airtel-hikes-pan-india-base-tariff-rs2-per-min-prepaid-customers/104024/
Thanks Telecomtalk, for updating.
Sathish, Gobichettipalayam January 24, 2013 at 5:23 pm
Yes, Dear Sudhakar. TT is always credible one.
As far as BSNL Chennai and RoTN concern they reacts according to their feasibility and market condition in Chennai and ROTN, they don’t blindly follow the Delhi BSNL CMD tariff / direction.
Till now there is no revision in tariffs (if any updation is happen, usually they updated first in their official chennai / TN website) so don’t worry about it. Keep watching their both website).
I know Chennai and TN BSNL. They are trying their level best for mobile customer friendly.
I have never seen such kind of quick Updation / SMS mode – online activation – self care facility for all STV, Plan voucher, Plan Continuation Voucher / all features / all new facility.
If you want to the offer of the day / current offers – you just send an SMS “OFFER” to 53733 (Toll free) from any Chennai and ROTN BSNL mobile number.
if you want to know the LAST FIVE complete transactions (debit, amount, duration, number) details, you just send a sms LAST FIVE to 53733 (tollfree) from any Chennai and RoTN BSNL number.
Amazing Balance transfer facility is now available with high security from any amount (10 to 200 – multiples of 10) you can transfer to any BSNL Mobile number in Chennai and Tamilnadu at very nominal cost.
likewise many more facility available in BSNL without visibility.
See the list of keywords and facility :

I JUST WANT TO KNOW THAT INCREASE OF VALIDITY OF PLAN VOUCHER RS 34( 180 DAYS VALIDITY) EXIST OR IT HAVE BEEN INCREASE. PLEASE KINDLY MENTION…
Dr.Venkat January 24, 2013 at 12:13 pm
Most of my friends are using bsnl because of its plan vouchers , specially nestham plan which offers 10 paise per minute tariff to 5 local bsnl numbers with out any rental. even i used till last month. It has better coverage but its network quality is not that good. Often call drops,Need to push messages 5 to 6times to send them, and poor customer care. All of my friends are going to port out to bsnl as it is no more cheap. for example when we are getting two different quality items at same cost we obviously go for good quality one. so my friends are planning to port in to airtel which is providing best quality services in andhra pradesh circle. And airtel coverage is also quite good. They covered most of the remote places also with good quality network.I welcome the price hike by bsnl. But their quality of service should match withthe price. REMEMBER BSNL PEOPLE.
