Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) Karnataka Circle today announced that it has Re-introduced the its most popular “1 Paisa SMS Pack” – Special Tariff Voucher [STV] costing Rs.11 for SMS purpose for all the pre-paid plans including Circle Promotional Offers in 2G & 3G mobile Services.
The SMS Pack STV-11 offers all Local, National and Roaming SMS just at 1paisa per SMS valid for of 30 days from the date of recharges. To activate the 1p SMS Pack, BSNL 2G / 3G prepaid customer has to recharge with STV of Rs.11 through CTOP UP.
The reduced tariff/charges of SMS will not be available on 5 Blackout days that is [1] 31 st Dec [2] 1 st Jan [3] Valentine day [4] Diwali & [5] Christmas Day. Normal SMS Charge as per concerned plan will be applicable on the above/Blackout days.
Apart from all prepaid plans available in Karnataka circle this STV -11 will also applicable for Karnataka Mitra Prepaid Plan and will be available only till TRAI issues guidelines w.r.t SMS Tariff. For more details call 1503 from your BSNL Mobile (toll free) or 9400012345.

THEY SUDDENLY CHANGED IT TO 3PAISE!!!!!!!!! no info of any kind….u never know when these bsnl ppl will say no such offer anymore.
also first the call centre guys tells me it is a special charge only for my number @#$%%^%&, what shit…..then i asked him y wat is wrong with my number, n then he said smthn about TRAI making the charge 3paise for all ppl.
anyways summary…no 1 paise sms

In Karnataka, I activate the pack by sending “STVSMS11″ to 53733. The activation will happen in 2 hours. Its a little buggy though; even though it get activated, it will send and sms saying “invalid code”

The UNIONS are the main culprits, and unfortunately every cast,creed, category have unions of their own in these PSUs. Their leaders will loose their Netagiri once the merger takes place. In fact men at the lower and middle category wants the merger for they fear loosing their job if the present scenario contunued. Understand the fact that as of now for both the units making losses. And the pvt ops are making hey..! Sibalji is only interested in anything other than TELECOM. Definitely there will be a silver lining !

@all ……Here in west bengal…….STV13 can,t be clubbed with any other STV. i.e. if you want to use STV13 then you have to be in base plan. Is it also same for the other circle/region ?

Agreed PD, but Kapil Sibal & ruling party will never do it. Even Union of BSNL not understand the importance of MTNL BSNL merge. Even I think both PSU GSM/mobile services to be merge & make seprate Co. If this happened then also no one can beat this PSU Co. They have inbuilt Infrastructure, skilled, experienced manpower to improve their servies, Say thanks to Kapil Sibal & his team who are working 24/7 for COAI,AUSPI.

I think yes and might be STV cost is Rs.13 for Punjab Circle, check with BSNL CC to confirm the plan availability for ur circle.
