It seems that BSNL is now trying to be the best option for local and STD calling for Kolkata’s 2G and 3G mobile users compare to all other service providers in this Metro circle.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) announced 2 new value- for- money prepaid packs STV45 and STV49 offering cheap local and STD callings, that may suits students and price conscious customers making it the choice of the masses!
BSNL’s new circle specific Special Tariff Voucher (STV) 45 offers Kolkata customers the lowest local calling rate at just 15 paise per Minute for BSNL Network (Mobile/Landline) and 40p/minute for all other networks with 30 day validity, STV 45 is unbeatable value for BSNL’s mobile customers who can make local BSNL to BSNL calls at just 15 paisa per minute.
Adding another spectacular product to its cartel, BSNL also launched STV 48 valid for 30 days, gives Kolkata’s BSNL prepaid subscribers the opportunity to make STD calls to friends and families across the BSNL network for 20 paisa per minute (All BSNL number- anywhere in India). While STD Calls to any other network will cost 40p/min.
BSNL Kolkata - STV45 and STV49 Plan Details
For STV of Rs. 45 & 49, there will be no change in ISD call charges & Local / National/ International SMS charges. Customers can recharge STV 45 & STV 49 at BSNL CSC, Retailers or On-line, through BSNL self care portal. These Promotional STVs will be available up to 16-07-2012.

Is this available for 3g only. Actually i need minimum call rate for bsnl to bsnl in local area(Kolkata) for 2g. Can anyone suggest me something best? Please….

Cannot find any such 135 offer for vodafone prepaid, you are probably talking about postpaid. I will prefer to remain in postpaid.

I don’t think this is the best plan for Kolkata. I pay Rs.135/month in whivh I get 350local min free + 300local & national sms, after free min call local V2V 0.20p & V2O 0.30p all STD at 0.50p. Vodafone is cheaper for me than BSNL.

2.Max you have to shell out 49/- pm.
3.In the same Kolkata/Indicom 24/-pm gives split-second benefit.
ANY CALL ie STD/Local: one second = half paisa .
4.So, what is so big about this BSNL offer?

I am in a confusion mode. I want to know how do I do online recharge for BSNL.
According to my knowledge there are 4 types of recharge
1. Main Account Validity Recharge
2. top-up
3. Special Tariff Voucher(STV)
4. Data Recharge
If you look at BSNL site they give 2,3 & 4 recharge option to be made online.
I just want to do a normal recharge where in I need to increase the validity of my main account and I don’t get any option related to main account validity recharge in their portal to do that.
Can you please help me in this. I have many friends who are facing this problem. Every time me including my friends have to goto BSNL customer Service center to get the main account validity recharge done.
We checked with http://portal.bsnl.in and it has option of Top-Up/Recharge but only shows option for Top-Up and no normal validity recharge.
Can you please help me to get answer if we can do online recharge for main account validity. OR is it possible to increase main account validity with STV.

BSNL does not offer such services in the up east circle where its subscriber base is the highest even though the company has no full talktime offer in the circle
