In a bid to Boost the 3G Mobile service, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), one of India’s leading telecom players, today introduced breakthrough tariff for its 3G Prepaid Mobile service with lowest local Voice and Video calling just 30 paisa per minute for its 3G GSM mobile subscriber in all telecom circles across India. BSNL announced new most affordable tariff plans for 3G mobile services under pre-paid voice, video and data plans.
The Video and voice call will now be available for as low as 30 paisa per minute and STD video calls will be available at the rate of voice calls. BSNL is also offering most affordable data usage at a rate 1 paisa or less 10kb on the High Speed 3G Data Network.
BSNL’s 2G GSM mobile services shall be available at 1 paisa per second for local and STD calls on pan- India basis for all calls made within the BSNL network. Calls to other networks for local as well as STD shall be made available at 1.20 paisa per second.
BSNL also has taken initiative to announce new tariff plan for all Local and STD calls at 49 paisa per minute for its prepaid 2G Mobile subscriber in the country. In this plan SMS for local as well as national level has been priced at 49 paise per SMS with the STV ALL@49 which comes with 6 and 12 months validity.
BSNL thus announces both the 49 paise per minute and 1 paisa per second plan for all telecom circles across India.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kuldeep Goyal, CMD, BSNL said “it is an historical occasion for the country that India has now come at par with most developed countries of the world by making 3G services available to the citizens of this country at the most affordable rates
BSNL’s 3G service is presently available in 240 cities in the North Zone and East Zone. Though initial growth of 3G connections was slow, the response has been encouraging of late. This is in line with global trends where initial uptake of 3G has been slow, followed by faster growth. In order to accelerate the growth of 3G services, BSNL has taken several steps, e.g. improving 3G coverage, launching more Value Added Services to enhance 3G experience and making 3G tariffs more affordable.Migration from 2G to 3G has been made almost free of charge.
Data card bundling has also been offered to attract customers. “We are quite hopeful that with these steps, the growth in our 3G customer base would accelerate further”, Mr. Kuldeep Goyal said.
A strategic partnership with Dell and Olive Telecommunication, the parent company of Haier Mobile, has also been made to launch embedded 3G Netbooks with high-speed internet access for mobile internet connectivity and broadband access.
This strategic tie-up will give customers the unique advantage of high-speed Internet access service compounded with the feature-rich and attractively-priced Netbooks, which will be an offer with an all-exclusive range of tariff offerings, designed to bring the best of both worlds to the market.
“By making 3G services affordable in India, BSNL is ultimately facilitating socio-economic development of the masses through applications such as Telemedicine, e-education and e-governance. 3G is an enabler for India to meet its target of 20 million broadband subscribers by 2010.”, added Mr. Kuldeep Goyal.

You are absolutely right Suresh ji….I totally agree with your viewpoint!!
Suresh November 7, 2009 at 1:56 pm
FAHAD don’t compare India and China, Bcoz in china there is dictatorship not democracy! For example when Govt of India Ban Prepaid service in J&K, aap yaha govt ko gali de rahe thee as your comments and ye hi aapne china mai kiya hota to direct shoot but India mai nahi.
So in dictatorship any one can change the system as they want.
Fahad November 7, 2009 at 1:17 pm

In Kolkata circle BSNL has scheme on Landline customer i.e. Manikjod, Manikjod plus.
In this scheme a customer got a free sim for landline. The call b/w the Postpaid sim & landline is free & other tariff as 99 postpaid. It is a no rental postpaid scheme.
But suddenly after one year it is charged Rs 40/- monthly. The no of customer BSNL increase in the period, the 80% customer surrender the connection.
The BSNL CC really bad. They don’t have any proper information. Now I am still waiting (6 months) when I get my refund money of landline from their.
So don’t believe any telecom company. Under the ‘Condition Apply’ (small letter) quote what’s going on only they know!!!
AnujB November 7, 2009 at 12:54 am
@Debopratim Roy
I think the realiance add is really apt for what is happening in the industry….all these RGSM, docomo, mts, unitech..etc have come in like piedpippers and are hynotizing the customers with offers like 1p per sec..1p per 2sec..50p for life..etc..
and soon enough when they have a big chink of customers…get thier additional spectrum..get the valuations up…sell off their stake…they do what the hritik roshan does to the mice…push them off the edge!!!
kaushik November 7, 2009 at 12:29 am
^^^ also it is 100% sure that RC 48 for all 50 paise call/sms is not for lifetime
LAGI BET
kaushik November 7, 2009 at 12:27 am
yes i suffered from that RC 750 withdrawal by RGSM ( SMART )
after that i dont trust RELIANCE
i dont like RELIANCE AND BSNL these 2 company
Fahad November 6, 2009 at 11:48 pm
@Debopratim Roy
yes dude reliance ka kuch nahi hoskta …kya pata kab rgsm ko bhi market se withdraw krde…altaf is right at ths point ambani ka sapna sab ka maal apna…kyun thk kaha na…rgsm shud b banned man…i hate that netwrk
Debopratim Roy November 6, 2009 at 11:34 pm
@Fahad
Its great….A company like Relaince provides advertisement using film star like Rithik Roshan to endorse its brand..When u call up those idiots tell u>”One has to rechrage with Rs.48 to avail this facility and within a span of few months the ambani thieves withdraw the offfer.” They did something like that with lifetime scheme of 750 in calcutta circle which many customers suffered…so u see the difference here between the honest and a liar..Once a liar always a liar!!
Fahad November 6, 2009 at 11:29 pm
U knw what …u r takng abt infrastructre so wanna tell u sumthng…
In j&k bsnl had launche unlimited gprs before 3 months but u knw what c.c is nt awared …whenevr i cald thm 4 the same thy said no such information is available here …..great na
Debopratim Roy November 6, 2009 at 11:17 pm
When 3G auction would take place in 14th january 2010(whether A.Raja would be then telecom minister or not) in each circle except few like Delhi,Andhra etc both BSNL and MTNL would have to pay to the Govt Of India the amount that the highest bidder would get 3G spectrum…..Koi free mein kuch nahin baat raha haai…Everything comes at a price be it spectrum or food( as nothing comes free of cost)!!
Debopratim Roy November 6, 2009 at 11:13 pm
When an information is launched by any operator be it BSNL or MTNL and even by relaince,airtel and vodafone it is found on most instances that the customer care executives are not fully aware of the said information rolled out by the operator beacuse it is just after few hours the information gets forwarded..No private operator like Airtel,vodafone or even realinace doesnt have such huge infrastructure like that of BSNL and MTNL….It is very easy to point fingers than understanding the reality…Its after all is perception what matters and nothing else..2 minds may not think same!!
Deb November 6, 2009 at 10:53 pm
Is anyone know about t&c of this offer? because cc can’t confirm anything.
Fahad November 6, 2009 at 10:44 pm

Fahad November 6, 2009 at 9:48 pm
@Turkee
we hav to xcpt bt we cnt tolerate thr netwrk whch is ful of shit…xampl bsnl…
Turkee November 6, 2009 at 9:45 pm
Till other operators get the 3G spectrum, BSNL would have taken the cream of customers with him. This has been a historical strategy of BSNL to launch good things first and enroll better subscribers. Early bird catches the prey strategy. Any ways its surely a good way to attract customers and make them feel the goodness of 3G with nominal charges. Hope there are no hidden charges. I cannot say it is good coz they are the only operators in the 3G race right now,so whatever they will offer we will have to accept at this stage.
Arka November 6, 2009 at 9:34 pm
@Ashis
You talked about really about a serious matter. 3000/mth for unlimited usage is a one kind of robbery.
Ashis November 6, 2009 at 9:27 pm
But what is important is that BSNL should give some serious thought to reduce tariff in the section of data plan to ensure any considerable margin of customer base.
Fahad November 6, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Hope auctions fr 3g wont be delayed now coz the real war wil start wen all operators wud be havng 3g netwrk…tab maza ayega…at present thr z a cmptetn b/w mtnl nd bsnl only nd bth of thm r providing the sme tariff…
By the way wat z the mnthly rent 4 the same
Fahad November 6, 2009 at 9:16 pm
Great man….bsnl joins the war now….latecomr he sahi bt joined …gud going b.s.n.l
Arka November 6, 2009 at 8:26 pm
Thats a positive move from BSNL. But govt. should not delay auction of 3G license. That will make competition on 3G market, so that customer will be benefited.
Anuj November 6, 2009 at 8:12 pm
Thats something really good from BSNL on 3G front!
